Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Aug 10 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

after playing most of SMT - Strange Journey the trainwreck, DDS games - the most flawed duology, mainline SMT3/4/4A/5/5V, the Persona games and all that stuff, after playing them I finally revisited the first SMT game I played after playing P5/4/3 in 2021. Having so much Megaten experience and wanting to give the most praised game a look again. Despite never finishing it in 2021. It's just so overrated its insane. The characters are dogwater, the story is bad, the atmosphere is good, the music is great, the gameplay is 50/50 (Insaniax mod improves it by a good chunk, but it can't fix the game itself) Encounter rate is ass, the dungeons are ass, the bosses are ass, the remaster is ass (needing mods to function properly) and the magatama system is severely lacking compared to Demon Whispering, 5's Apotheosis, DDS's Mantra system and so on. The game is very much just a game that could have been made infinitely more enjoyable had they went the extra mile in this remaster - giving you autosaves, improving the audio quality, adding a search function for demon fusion, adding fast travel BETWEEN EVERY terminal and not just the main terminals (S- terminals included). Those on its own would have made this game definetly be up there in A tier. Then the game would be actually fun and not tedious more often. As it stands it's just tedious for most of its run time. It doesnt have the luxury of having an interesting story like DDS, or QoL goated gameplay like 5V, or captivating characters like SMT4. Its a jack of all trades that doesnt stand out. Is it bad? no. Its good at times. People just praise the game as end all be all SMT. If you hate yourself play it, if you dont, play Vengeance. 6.5/10 for now. Might change after I de-tilt.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 25: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

this is a real man's rpg, typa game to put some hair on ya chest. no handholding, no fair fights, no mercy. it is suffering and struggle incarnate, which is why its peak play with mods that rebalance and modernize some of the mechanics tho, also the one that raises the fps and its genuinely an amazing experience

I'm honestly not really happy with this port. The new voice work is great, and being able to select the inherited skills is much needed quality of life. Still, the new lighting looks kind of odd, especially compared to the pre-rendered cutscenes that they couldn't bother to remaster. As for the game itself, it's really good. Was my first proper entry into smt after a long time of being a persona fan. I love the press turn combat system, I adore the bleak nature and atmosphere of the world the game is set in. The dungeons also offer a decent variety, though some of them drag on way too long and have very archaic design. And of course, Meguro once again delivers with the soundtrack. This game has way too many good songs to count. It's not my favourite smt game, but it's definitely worth playing. If the port was cheaper, I would 100% rate this positive, but pricing a 20 year old game like a modern release is egregious to say the least. Either wait for a mega sale or look for it through other means, if you catch my drift.
