Shenmue III

Loved the first two games and was waiting for a chance to play this. As I am an Xbox & Mac guy it wasn't available for me. I have however got it working with Crossover on an M1 Pro Macbook quite well so I'm finally getting a chance to play it.

I'm mixed on this one. It's a closure on the Shenmue story from the Dreamcast era, but it aged a bit poorly. The gameplay and acting aren't very good. On itself, not a very good game, but as the last part of the Shenmue story, I guess it's worth playing.

This game is great. I played the first one on Dreamcast, the second and third on pc, and I am so glad I waited those two decades. The pacing is great, the minigames are fun, the combat is awesome, and the spoken dubbed dialogue isn't as forced and stale as the original. The ending was awesome, and has me hyped for more. On that note, I need to address something. I feel like people are confused. This isn't the last game. Not even remotely close. You can find the story roadmap for this game, and according to that, Ryo's story has barely even started. In fact, the intended story for this is so long, that I fear the writer is going to die of old age before the story gets completed. But yeah, great game. 11/10, would buy again.
