What a pleasant surprise this old-school gem turned out to be! Sheep is a Lemmings-style puzzle game where you herd ridiculously dumb sheep through 28 chaotic levels full of hazards, evil cows, and absurd settings - from amusement parks and disco clubs to outer space. It even has full Polish language support, which is a nice bonus for us Eastern European players. The game is genuinely addictive, clever, and dripping with that pure '90s charm. I picked it up on sale mostly for nostalgia and I was impressed by how well it still holds up. The puzzles can get pretty tough and require precise timing and strategy, while the sheep's artificial stupidity provides endless comedy. Watching them bumble straight into disasters never gets old. My only small complaint is that the Steam trailer uses footage from the inferior PS1 version, which looks pretty janky. Don't let that put you off - you're actually getting the superior PC original with better graphics, smoother controls, and more polish (pun intended). The difference is noticeable! If you enjoy retro puzzle games with heart, humor, and a decent challenge, definitely grab it on sale. Even without a discount the game is quite cheap, but you can often grab it for a dollar during sales, so it's up to you. Oh, and the Longwool sheep are my absolute favorites - they look like total rockstars with that long, flowing wool.

Sheep (2000) is a piece of nostalgia that randomly pops in my head and makes me want to feel like a kid on a Saturday morning once again 🐑 Game is simple yet addicting and levels are fast paced due to time limit which is adjusted via difficulty, as well as amount of sheep. Controls are easy to find online for keyboard and comments already existing below. As many old games this one also comes with hidden mechanics, in this case each shepard actually having different control over sheep and flock itself being easier or harder to handle. This creates different relations and behavior over each herder, making it either easier or harder to handle. Motley, the brown dog as example has easiest and hardest push/reaction of sheep so they will run away easier than compared to other herders and is fastest of them all as well. This information is not given in game and can only be found online if one is curious about differences between shepards and sheep. It creates this way a replayability value to see how those levels would play with different character. Art style of Sheep is iconic and rememberable. Sheep are quirky both in gameplay and cutscenes setting the mood for incoming adventure immediately. Music is also fitting and helping to carry each run onward. Game's difficulty lies in chaotic enviorments that our friends have to be lead through and depending on a difficulty chosen as well as the character herding it can turn in second from organised to full butchery. I must say, I definetly played it a lot as a kid because my current skills as coming back to it were an embarassment. It colorfun, fun with simple goal but satysfaying on each succesful step on not losing any of your companions neither missing a single one. Game does not support wide screen just like many of this age but it proves to be absolutely not a problem as everything centers perfectly in a screen, is visible and playable. I do own an original game CD but I couldn't skip this piece of classic golden nostalgia to not add to my library as GOG does not have it. Thanks for having it Steam! Kid inside of my head is definetly happy with it! 🐑🐑🐑
