About
Sheep is a puzzle-solving escapade through crazy mazes starring those most loveable of all creatures... Sheep!
Unbeknownst to everyone, these seemingly dim-witted animals are actually highly intelligent beings from another planet. Over millions of years, the lush green pastures and the Human's lazy nature have caused them to lose sight of their vastly superior status and become the mindless creatures we know today. Lost, alone, and now quite dumb, they need you to reunite them with their celestial ancestors.
Choose from the four unlikely heroes: Bo Peep, Adam Halfpint, Motley or Shep, to help herd the sheep through dangerous perils.
Control the fate of four different breeds of sheep: Pastoral, Factoral,
Longwool, as well as Neo-Genetic, and protect them from Mr. Pear and his evil henchcows!
Guide your flock through seven worlds and 28 levels, including amusement parks and disco clubs!
Collect all of the golden sheep to gain access to a bonus level in each world!
Incredible A.S. (Artificial Stupidity) actually simulates the unique folly of sheep.
Mind-challenging puzzles combined with mentally challenged sheep provide hours of enjoyment.

(the promotional footage on the store uses the PSX release of the game - gameplay is mostly the same, but has no 2-Player mode!) Still works relatively well after a good 25 years or so. The stuff done to make it work allows you to get pictures and recordings, but you can't access the Steam overlay, and alt-tabbing is disabled for some reason. Which is alright, I suppose. Gameplay-wise, the aim is to get a small herd of sheep across several danger-filled regions - from humble fields to chocolate factories, fêtes to discotheques, even the wonderful opposites(?) of space and prehistoric times. It's really whatever seemed fun to the devs at the time. What the sheep can or can't survive is a bit nebulous - a fully-decked-out bull in biker duds flips the poor things over, but a kid on a skateboard flattens 'em instantly. There's points to collect for a high-score table, as well as statuettes that unlock bonus stages, but the way the game works, if you miss one, that bonus stage is locked. Quite harsh when it happens on the final stage! The music ain't bad. Visuals are simplistic but work well enough, and this being a game from the year 2000, it has that most wonderful of things: 3D ANIMATED VIDEO - it's all compressed quite nicely, a good 17 clips barely taking up 123MB, and they're not totally awful on the eyes! The story is influenced in two ways: British Humour, and a particular feeling that maybe the game got rushed out the door. Mention is made in the manual of antagonistic forces, and whilst they do turn up, they're not really all that present? Evil sheep, oversized pears and large bulls will bar your way, but they're basically wandering hazards more than anything really horrid. Even the final encounter with the one enemy that reacts to your location is basically a delayed-fire turret which appears in the intro scene, but just does not appear in any written story at all! The scenes that play between stages give explanations for how the sheep get from one set of stages to the next, and they're either referential humour or just straight "lol random". Take that for what you will. Overall though? It's worth a look, especially for the given price! Though I did find a bug at the end that kept causing the game to crash, but given it's at the very end, I don't know if the current rights-holders will really do anything to fix it... OH forgot to mention: this CAN be played on a Steam Deck, though you'll need to change controller settings to get it working properly. It can work with controllers on PC, but this being a game from the year 2000 means you'll need to put some work in to make it work properly lol. And on Linux Mint? You get access to the Steam overlay and alt-tabbing! Makes me wonder how Windows is screwing things up!
Great port and an awesome chance to replay a nostalgic game.
Saw this game with magazine being sold in a market +20 years ago. Didn`t bought it. Next day I went to buy it was gone. Easy yet hard, and the little guys screams are deafening.
