Since there are so few reviews, I thought I would leave one even though this is really just a demo. This is a mostly straightforward tower defense game, but adds Slay the Spire style deckbuilding and map traversal. The tower defense portion has very simple "shape" graphics so the game is all about the mechanics, not the presentation. That being said, there is a good variety of enemies with flyers, armored enemies, ones that get faster over time, ones that split, etc. The towers only have 4 stats (damage, attack speed, module slots and range. Cards are your towers and your modules, and some cards allow changing the element or the attack priority. The modules allow you to boost damage, add splash damage and I presume more things I didn't see yet (or forgot about). The enemies don't have a set path so you can use towers/walls to alter their path for optimal damage, assuming you can get the right cards. This demo only has one of the decks, so I have no idea how the other decks are different. The game was quite fun with some nice ideas that work well together. As a demo, it did it's job and made me consider buying the full game. The towers felt a bit samey, and the maps were pretty small but that is fine for what it is. My only real concerns are that it might not be as fun on additional playthroughs. I kind of felt like I saw most of the game the first time, and unless the other decks really mix things up I can see this being something that might not hold my interest for very long. I wish the game would have given me a brief preview of what the full version offers beyond what the demo does. Still, as a demo it is well worth playing if you like tower defense games and aren't worried about graphics.

This game is really fun at first, however once you figure out all the mechanics it becomes frustrating restarting with the same boring deck. Wish there was a way to have more permanent upgrades or at least not have 4 of the basic towers every single time. Maybe make deleting cards easier. The best way to make the game feel less like restarting every time you get unlucky is to add rerolls. This would make it feel like you are somewhat in control of your strategy, as of now it feels like my strategy is completely random and the game is just choosing for me. Another big complaint is the lack of variety in what the Elements/Towers do. The elements are really cool, however for example burn isn't interesting at all, it is better to just have something that boost your damage then to have 120% additional damage. Confusion element could be a good idea for more interesting game play. same thing with towers, I literally ended up just doing simple math to choose the objectively better tower. A balanced TD game should make you think about strategy and not math. triple shooting towers, towers that pierce enemy, towers that set traps, and towers the player can control are all ideas to make the gameplay feel more strategy base.
I like it and i'll be looking forward to the full release. Clean graphics, simple and intuitive user interface, and a fun fusion of genres. I have feedback, which is this: I think the game can be elevated by letting players collect some kind of resource for each shape they break. In a typical tower defense you collect resources for each enemy destroyed and make decisions about tower placements and upgrades on the fly during a wave. In this game that play style is replaced by trading card game mechanics. You draw cards before each wave and pay card prices using a set amount of energy. Loosely speaking, I think that bringing the real-time strategy elements from traditional tower defense games into the mix would benefit the game, and that resource collection during the wave may be an avenue to achieve this. In addition, it just feels good as a player to see a number tick up for each enemy destroyed!

Good.
The game is initially quite enjoyable, but it gets frustrating to restart with the same uninteresting deck once you've mastered the mechanics.
