I`ve played AVN (adult visual novel) games for so 10 years, yet this is so worth it, the story, the engagement to its lore, and the curiosity about what will happen next, who you save, who you choose, and whether you will accept the consequences or not? for all i can say this game is so worth it not alot of people know AVN games i wish that one day society will accept this as a game too not as for s*x and other lewd stuff but the story best ending for me is valerie leah and emily and last but not least haley thank you for creating this game and thanks to the internet that i found AVN
캐릭터 모델링이 제 취향에 맞고, 챕터 수가 많은 만큼 게임의 러닝타임도 매우 긴 편입니다. 다만 한국어 번역이 없어 대화 내용을 하나하나 읽으며 진행하기가 상당히 어렵습니다. 결국 스토리 중간 중간을 스킵하면서 대략적인 내용만 이해한 채 플레이 중입니다. 전반적인 게임 자체는 만족스럽지만, 한국어 지원이 없는 점이 아쉽기에 추후 한국어 지원이 추가되었으면 좋겠습니다.

I tend toward writing longer reviews, but I can keep it short and sweet for Shale Hill Secrets -- add it to your collection. The pros and cons of this game have been well analyzed and explained in several other long reviews, so I will sum it up like this. The cons are all about relatively harmless administrative clunkers, such as the way the save system works. The pros are all about the story itself - good characters, interesting tale, and lots of game play. The graphic style is mixed, with not particularly interesting "cut-out characters against a static background" for most of the story, but well-rendered animations for key moments. In the final analysis, the pros overwhelmingly outweigh the cons. I don't yet agree with some reviewers that it is one of the best AVNs ever made, but I do agree that it's well worth the time and money to include this in your AVN collection. ADDENDUM: Having now played SHS all the way through, I can only say that I have confirmed my first impressions. What is wrong with SHS -- almost too long in places, above average but not great graphics, minor administrative irritations -- are far outweighed by the plusses. The long story gives you more gameplay than you bargained for, and the inclusion of "platinum" extra scenes and more than a few replayable endings only adds to that -- unquestioningly worth the investment.
10/10 would play again. Loved how the plot is written. Never have I played an AVN, went to sleep and ended up thinking about how the story would unfold.
If you are into a game that builds on daily activities, then this is for you. Later on in this game there were less decisions to move one with certain people. So, I found it hard to keep up with this game. The main character can't speak from his mouth, so he has to use a machine to translate his words to speech. Once I saw how many chapters were written for this game, and to see how far I have come along and missed out on various scenes, it's time to move on. If I have a lot of time to reload this and to continue, I will. For now I need to clean my hard drive to reclaim disk space. And this game uses a lot of disk space. So it's gone.
