Shadow King

I can't recommend this 45 minute game at this price ($8.79 AUD at time of writing). There are plenty of better free microvanias on itch.io What's here isn't bad, but it does just feel like someone uploaded one level of a game and then had the audacity to charge people more than a dollar for it. I'll also note that you cannot rebind the controls, and on an Xbox controller, jump is set to X and slash is set to A. This is the complete opposite of the norm, and leads to frustration

This is a fun little game! It's not super long, which happens to make it a really fun game to try to speedrun. I managed to get my time down to 8:15. I wonder if anybody can beat that.

1時間もあればクリアできるメトロイドヴァニア。PICO-8製。 アイテムを少しずつ集め能力をアンロックしながら進むオーソドックスな内容で出来は良いと思うが操作感に難があり、ジャンプボタンの入力判定がされなかったり攻撃ボタンがいきなり連射になる時があるのがかなり気になった。 一応サムズアップしとくけど「どちらでもない」ってのが個人的な評価かな。

short but fun. the 3 boss fights were very enjoyable, and the metroidvania elements were intuitive and interesting.

Excellent pocket sized metroidvania ! Makes me wish I'd kept my old handhelds :') Wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who's a fan of retro games , and modern game design . Lovely stuff !

This game will take you less than an hour to beat but it definitely comes packed with masterful PICO-8 magic. All the winding progression of a metroidvania in a bite-sized package. Very well made!

Short cute metroidvania!

It's alright. I beat it in about 34 minutes. It's a pretty cheap game, and what's there is enjoyable, but I sorta wish it was a little bit longer. I guess that's a good thing, in a way. Didn't overstay it's welcome. If you're in a position where 5 bucks isn't much to you, I'd recommend it.

This is a great single sitting metroidvania with interesting upgrades and hidden secrets :) I know these types of games are not available as much but I think if you are a fan of metroidvania but don't have time to play long one, this is a great single sitting (an hour maximum long) to finish.

Great classic take on a NES style game. My only critisism is that i wish the boomerang was a different key. (i kept accidently dashing and it was bit annoying)
