Exercise that's engaging and fun! I bought this on the Quest first, really liked it, then bought it on Steam so I can use decent quality wireless earphones & to screenshare with friends on Discord easily. The difficulty settings are really useful to make Expert-only charts actually playable (at least for me!) Works with any chart from beatsaver(dot)com - I recommend going on that site, hitting download on all the songs you want, and then unzipping & moving the files into the game's "Shadow BoXR_Data\Resources\Songs" folder. You can do the same on Quest (files go into the Android folder somewhere when mounted as USB storage on your PC) (My setup: I use Alternative A2DP Driver (paid) + AptX Low Latency codec for better/low-latency Bluetooth audio. I use Virtual Desktop (also paid) to stream wirelessly to my Quest 3, and I use its passthrough/green-screen feature to allow me to see my environment during gameplay. Passthrough is natively supported in the Quest version too!)
Good.
Great game. Try it.
Been on this insane game for about 2 weeks now. Its been a blast, one of the best workouts i get on VR. The game is almost addictive the more you get used to it. My posture has been changing, like the better your stance is, the easier the game gets and then you crave more burn so you increase the difficulty. Now I'm seeing my 45min sessions being stretched to 2hrs lol Compared to Beat Saber, its not as polished sure. But that's probably where it stops being better. As far as game play goes id say a 10/10 for sure. Plus for $10, who cares as long as its doing what you wanted.
Shadow BoXR is great with the pacing and mapping, very much entertained with the targets crossing each other or mix with straight pathing, it's a plus that it incorporates custom songs from the community, whilst being able to use your own songs. I have PowerBeats and BoxVR, but Shadow BoXR is taking the trophy in the fun department in the short amount of time played in comparison to the others.
This game is like beat Saber, But it’s actually quite challenging in a good workout. I could feel the burn after just a few minutes, tons of custom content available without a bunch of extra steps, it just works. Tons of relatability and I think I’ll actually work out to it, which is more than I can say for some of the other fitness apps, devs awesome so if you find something lacking, message him and he may add it
Muchas canciones de la comunidad muy divertidas, es el beat saber en barato y más divertido
i think there is a good amount of songs, can be improved if there is some sort of progression quest mechanics
I love this game! for the love of god support the developer!
I wanted to wait a bit to write this review, this is the second fitness vr game I have the first being FitXR which was a really good, but for the price tag attached to shadowboXR it's impossible for me to not recommend it! it's super simple, catchy and amazing at what it does without any flashy gimmicks that can mess you up. The only negative point I can think off for this game are the graphics but honestly what can you really expect from a 10$ price tag, apart from that any session I've had left me sweating and my arms aching in a good productive way, and it genuinely feels like an accomplishment. I do wish they have more multiplayer functionality but I definitely understand if they wouldn't add such things as it could begin bogging the game. either way, 9/10 game, highly recommended! especially if you're a first time user of VR. Happy boxing!
