Seven Seas Jewels is an entertaining and addictive match 3 title which has everything you need to make it a decent match 3 puzzle title. There are 220 levels plus an extra 100 levels if you complete the story which I would imagine is going to take you around 25 hours to complete. The game manages to keep fresh by introducing new mechanics at regular intervals and it becomes quite addictive because it looks good and sounds good and the game can be quite challenging in the puzzle mode because you are given limited moves to complete your goals. I found the puzzle mode to be surprisingly tactical and strategic and there is only a little luck involved, so when you do complete levels it feels very satisfying. The game has that 'one more go' feel for sure and there were many times when I just scraped through on the last move or just failed which made me determined to try again. You can purchase extra moves if you wish which get more expensive the more you take, and there is a currency in the game which allows you to buy power ups or play mini games to win power ups. It's actually a very good system for earning currency and the mini games like guessing higher or lower, Battleships, and Match two are all enjoyable in their own rights so are a welcome break from puzzling to build up your coffers. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=3654501249 The power ups are a good way of getting out of trouble when you have a few moves left but there are some tricky squares yet to get. There is a hammer which destroys a square; a reshuffle which mixes a small area of gems; a cannon which destroys everything in a horizontal line; and a harpoon which destroys everything in a vertical line. If you match four gems in a row you are given either a horizontal or vertical arrow which destroys things in its path, and if you match five gems you are given a diamond which will destroy all gems of a certain colour you choose. Setting some of these power ups off is great fun and the explosions and carnage is great to watch and listen to with some impressive visuals and sound. The game is quite polished in that sense and looks and sounds nice. There is a story of sorts running through the game but it's quite brief but welcomed nonetheless, and every now and again you have an enemy to defeat which involves a more challenging level with greater tactics and strategy needed. I thought the difficulty was about spot on and it gets slightly more difficult as you progress. If you just want to take on the levels without limited moves then you can play the casual setting which has no restrictions but the same game play loop and story.
🍳Conclusion🍳

Seven Seas Jewels is a decent match 3 puzzle title with imaginative puzzles and addictive gameplay that introduces new mechanics at regular intervals to keep things fresh. There's a lot of content for your money and if you want a bit of a challenge you might be surprised by how strategic game play can get.

Thank you for reading my review. Seven Seas Jewels Collector’s Edition is, at its core, very similar to Avalon Jewels, which I previously reviewed here. The match-3 mechanics are exactly the same, but they now received a pirate-themed reskin. There are new level layouts and new extra minigames. However, most of the strengths and weaknesses I mentioned in my Avalon Jewels review still apply here as well. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3652736474 Seven Seas Jewels introduces a couple of fresh mechanics that make some of the levels feel more puzzly. One recurring example involves spreading water tiles across the board, starting with a tile representing a docked ship in order to create a navigable path toward one or more island tiles. Similar to Avalon Jewels, there is a constant feeling of freshness thanks to the frequent introduction of new mechanics, objectives, and quests. Levels never feel copy-pasted, and the game does a good job of mixing familiar ideas with small twists to always keep things engaging. The optional minigames have changed to “battleship“, pair matching, or a simple card guessing game, while some levels are presented as jigsaw puzzles. Unlike in Avalon Jewels, it’s easier to accumulate coins here by replaying the first two minigames mentioned, since they no longer cost anything to access. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3652736402 Compared to Avalon Jewels, Seven Seas Jewels is slightly shorter, with 220 levels instead of 250. The overall difficulty feels similar, although levels in Seven Seas Jewels tend to stack more mechanics on top of each other, which makes individual stages feel a bit more complex and puzzle-heavy rather than more challenging. The overall presentation remains very pleasant: colorful boards, deeply satisfying animations when triggering match chains, and a fitting pirate score as the soundtrack. There’s also a simple story about rescuing a princess kidnapped by pirates, which provides a bit of context for progression without getting in the way of gameplay. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3652736530 If you enjoyed Avalon Jewels, Seven Seas Jewels Collector’s Edition is an easy recommendation. It doesn’t reinvent the formula, but it refines it with new level mechanics, a new theme, and a generous amount of content. For fans of relaxed and thoughtfully designed match-3 games, this is another solid entry from the same developer. Super wciągająca match 3 w pirackim klimacie. Fajna grafika, morskie motywy i fajna muzyka robią robotę i naprawdę czuć klimat przygody. Poziomy są różnorodne, a minigry dają dużo frajdy.
I've completed all 220 levels in the story mode. I love match 3 games. This one is on par with many of it's well-known predecessors. At a $12 price tag, I'd gladly say the game is worth the money.
You can fly through it but it's good
fun time killer with a pirate theme. works perfectly under Linux.
