Fantastic game. Both gameplay and especially character creation has some real depth to it. However, while the game isn't too complicated to understand, it does a bad job of explaining some things. A modifier of +1 damage, for instance, actually means you're upgraded to the next damage category for the attack you're using, which can easily mean DOUBLE damage in many cases. There's a lot of stuff like that. If you don't mind figuring out mechanics on your own or reading some guides, this is an amazing game. It feels like what X-Com should have been, gameplay wise. Story is pretty good too, if you like cheesy old fashioned superhero tales.
looking at old games in my library and came back to this game to find it abandoned - new buyers beware
Its not perfect by a mile and the amount of enemies on screen can make you feel like you are in line at walmart waiting for your turn. When it is your turn however and you destroy 4 thugs in a row with Tachyon or make mincemeat of them with a mechanized T-Rex it all becomes worth it.
Boring
good game shows promis
Xcom + Freedom Force = Sentinels of Justice, nuff said
I really enjoyed the game. It came the closest to reminding me of Freedom Force--an excellent single person superhero simulator.
I bought this game on sale so I enjoyed it at that price point. I stopped playing near the end as characters were disappearing from my save game files. I'd have to replay 3-4 scenarios in a row just to get back to where I had lost the checkpoint. I don't know why the game won't let you save anywhere. I enjoyed the Superhero / Freedom Force vibe as long as I could. 3/5 stars
Well... it tries to be a fun tactical game... but honestly, ends up being more of a tower defense with movable characters half the time. This game is pretty much dead. Nowhere NEAR worth the price. Maybe get this if you can get an extreme discount, but otherwise, skip it.
While not ground breaking or especially streamlined this game is a hoot and fun to play.
