Outstanding puzzle-platformer game with unique mechanics, charming art and enchanting music. Sometimes puzzles are too technique-dependent instead of brain-dependent, but overall Semblance is great. 💜

Semblance is a refreshing take for a puzzle platformer. Shaping environments for platforming works and it feels great. The game adds new twists in each of the 3 worlds, they’re just enough without overwhelming the player. There are between 5 and 6 levels in each world and there is a special final area after all of them are cleared. In terms of collectibles, there are 4 types. Mosquitos which usually require some tricky platforming, art on walls to explain the story, essences that are mandatory to complete the game and shrines, the latter are few in quantity and they’re extra hidden. The style is appealing in terms of visuals but they’re brought to life thanks to the excellent sound effects and music. The music is usually minimalistic but when it’s at the forefront, it’s so good. There are two flaws I’ve noticed. One is not understanding the story at all. As mentioned, the art you can find is supposed to clear things up but it did not work for me. They were very vague, I was also confused about the ending. Granted, it’s not too important for this kind of game but I would at least like to know the basics. And finally, one puzzle maybe two at most felt bullsh*t imo. The solution for the one I’m thinking about (in the third world) is very precise and narrow. It’s the only one I couldn’t figure out. When I looked up the solution online, I couldn’t believe what was required to solve it. Btw, I’ve read some reviews complaining about the controls but I don’t understand where it’s coming from. I played with a DualShock 4 controller, maybe others tried to play the game with a mouse and keyboard. Honestly, I enjoyed the game immensely. It might be on a small budget, something that can be noticed if you care too much about these things. But it’s a well designed game that offers something different. I absolutely recommend the game if you’re looking for an original puzzle platformer that is small in scope and knows when to stop. The normal price of €10 feels fitting but it’s on sale often too. It took me less than 5 hours to complete the game and get all the achievements. They amount to finding all the collectibles and playing every level.

Really creative little puzzle-platformer. The idea of having to shape the platforms was executed well, and despite how short the gane is it had a few different "extras" to this concept, like Lasers that let you use the platforms like catapults and later puzzles where you don't just have to shape the world but also the character you play as. The controls felt a bit finicky at times and could be fine tuned a bit more, there were a few occasions where in my head I had alredy solved the puzzle amd knew what to do but the pulling it off part was the problem because if the controls. Still a fun short experience id reccomend!

Me lo compré muy rebajado y ha merecido la pena. Ha sido entretenido y con algún puzle que me ha dado algún quebradero de cabeza. Las mecánicas y la idea me han parecido originales. Para hacer el logro de los mosquitos me miré un tutorial porque habían un par escondidos y no me apetecía ponerme a buscar x3

very interesting and easy-going game. Only complaint i'd have would about controls on keyboard, that you cannot reassign the keys

Le jeu est court mais cache quelques secrets pour les plus observateurs [h3] Points forts / Points faibles [/h3] - Concept de gameplay original et bien exploité - Une ambiance sonore et graphique agréable qui accompagne parfaitement les temps de réflexion - Une courbe de difficulté parfaitement gérée - L'histoire (et le lore) n'est pas accessible (ou alors j'ai raté l'explication) - L'une des dernières énigmes du monde 2 est trop brouillonne et repose sur le skill - Quelques glitchs visuels sur les plateformes déformables (aucun impact sur le gameplay) [h3] Contexte [/h3] J'ai acheté ce jeu parce que je trouvais la jaquette jolie. Je suis très content d'y avoir découverte une petite expérience de platformer très agréable. J'ai apprécié relancer le jeu pour en compléter les quelques succès qu'il me manquait.
