About
SELF_DELETED is a dark cyberpunk interactive story about the price of identity.
In the Lower City, debts are never forgiven.
You have 30 minutes to pay 500,000 credits — or die.
You have no money.
Only a technology that allows you to sell your memories.
Connected to a neural interface, you see your mind as a collection of files.
Each memory has a price. The more it means to you, the higher its value.
First love.
Childhood rooftops.
Your closest friend.
Your mother.
Your core identity.
Once sold, the memory disappears forever.
You won’t even remember what you lost.
What are you willing to sacrifice to survive?
And who will remain when it’s over?
SELF_DELETED is not a story about death.
It is a story about something worse.
Warning: AI Slop This e-book is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
More fake AI slop, this entire thing was vibe coded, the Russian garbage text for this book was prompted with ChatGPT (or whatever), all the backdrop imagery is AI Slop. This is in every sense of the word a "fake game", or should I say "fake book". There's nothing sincere or valuable in this AI slop mess. This developer operates under multiple aliases in an attempt to hide their identity and confuse gamers. Known accounts include:

HideStormGames
NightShadowGames
PikantoPizzaGames
PopOldGames
RedYellowGreenGames
SmogGames
All the same developer. Multiple accounts just to mislead gamers. Because this was put together with the Ren'Py e-book construction kit, it didn't require any actual coding or development. It's a tool for failed authors to push their garbage high school anime club dropout fanfictions as games (or in this case, just prompt GPT to do the markup and text for the entire e-book... this is a joke). Just like there's no professional writing here, there isn't any professional software development either. Visual novels/e-books are the worst way to try read a book (and they're always written far worse than real books too). Imagine reading your favorite book, be that War and Peace or The Davinci Code (are you ok??), but you have to click the mouse for every single sentence that appears. You'd hate it. It's a garbage way to try read a book... and even if it wasn't, this still isn't a game. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. These flaws make this E-Book fall far short of the professional standards we expect from a modern PC game. The poor quality of this E-Book is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the E-Book all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the E-Book. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality E-Book is to be expected. Let's talk about price and the value this represents for us gamers. Should you buy this E-Book? Is it among the best the Steam catalogue has to offer? SELF_DELETED is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. There's enough defects and quality problems with this E-Book that it's really impossible to recommend to gamers. The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere. AI models are trained on copyrighted intellectual property without permission from the owners.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this E-Book as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the E-Book (to date). Until this status changes, this E-Book will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this E-Book.
