About
Please be aware of this!
If you buy it before then, you’ll keep it forever in your Steam library. It will remain fully playable after the store page is removed.
You'll find yourself stranded in the creepy forests of North America. Things might seem peaceful, but don't be fooled as these grounds are cursed. You're not alone and these haunted forests are home to a legendary creature called The Wendigo. This bloodthirsty predator is fast, smart, has great senses and will do everything it can to take you down. To break the curse you'll need to find and burn totems, the more you burn the more intense the game becomes. Therefore your best bet is to get from point A to point B as fast as possible, duck down to stay out of Wendigo's sight and use the ank to scan the environment for nearby totems. Simply sprinting until you find the totems will get you nowhere since the Wendigo will see and catch you.
CONTROLS
Controls for keyboard and non-VR controllers are really straight-forward, but how will Seeking Evil: The Wendigo be played in VR? Let’s have a look:
For the best experience we advise you to play Seeking Evil while standing.
To ensure better gameplay and a more immersive experience Seeking Evil doesn't rely on a point teleportation system for locomotion and the trackpad (Vive) or the analog stick (Oculus) of the left controller are used.
In order to sprint you can press the trackpad (Vive) or the analog stick (Oculus) of the left controller. There will also be situations where you’re chased by the Wendigo, here shaking the VR controllers as if you were running will allow you to increase your speed even more which might be a matter of life or death.
THE LEGEND
The Wendigo is a savage predator that craves human flesh and prefers to eat its victims alive. It's cursed to roam the tribal grounds of North America and is part of the traditional belief system of a number of Algonquin-speaking peoples. Although we don't know where it came from and descriptions can vary, one thing is certain: it is evil, cannibalistic, has an unending hunger and won't be satisfied after killing and consuming one victim.
This creature is intelligent, agile, possesses supernatural strength, has enhanced senses, and excels in stealth. The combination of these abilities allows it to stalk its victims without being noticed and once it has you in sight it's probably already too late.

Reviews
Way to many performances issues to count and I'm playing in non VR, cant imagine how much worse it is for VR users. Other than that its just not all that interesting, and for some reason it keeps changing my resolution from my native which is weird.

"Seeking Evil: The Wendigo" ist ein kleines Horror-Spiel. Nordamerika.
Wertung:
7/10 Atmosphäre 4/10 Story 7/10 Grafik 7/10 Sound 5/10 Spielmechanik 3/10 Balancing 5/10 Spielspass
Fazit:
Schicker, aber langweiliger Slender-Klon. Oh god where do I start. You can't change the resolution, had to play in 640x480 It looks like they just took an environment from the asset store and added simple AI to have an excuse to add a jumpscare every other 30 secs There are 2 "mechanics". first one is to keep your light off which doesn't help you in any way, second one is to stay down to not get noticed by the wendigo, who turns up every 5 secs or so, basically you have to play the entire game in crouch mode which is extremely slow and annoying. literally just a bad slender clone. not fun or scary in any way, not even worth the 80 cents. the only thing these devs did right is marketing, the cover and screenshots look promising but the content is terrible. It's also funny how most of the good reviews are from way back when it was in EA. Why are reviews on unfinished products allowed anyways? Do not buy this.
Sadly I could not play this game. There is something wrong with the engine, could not push 60 FPS on my valve index, nor with HTC Vive with 1080 ti GPU and 9900k CPU, Had to use 0.6 renderscale to get 90 fps, and the image quality at that point was unacceptable.
good game
Not particularly fun or intuitive. Not much to fear either. Wendigo appears and you stare at each other awkwardly while you stumble around looking for totems to burn.
Played Before Delisting No introduction, no saving, and no idea where to go. I found myself wandering in a deserted forest at night, there's a circle beneath the character serving as a visible inventory, but there's nothing to pick up rather than a stick and a flashlight. I followed a questionable red light to a temple, but couldn’t open the gate or interact with anything. I lit all the torches, nothing happened. Returning to the forest, I chased a deer, which eventually got stuck at the map border at the mountain. Then, the monster featured on the store page appeared, game over. It mentioned I ranked No. 20. Well, anyway, I bought this game solely for trading cards. And the gameplay itself isn’t worth it.
