About
Seablip is an ambitious pirate RPG, created by solo developer Jardar.

Seablip features an open world map containing many islands to explore, enemies to fight, and treasures to find. Plunder and sink enemy vessels on your path to become a feared pirate, and discover hidden secrets waiting to be discovered as you sail the sea.
Increasing the size and quality of your ship is a crucial part of the game, by buying a better one or by upgrading your existing one.
There are more than 48 upgrades (cannons and other special upgrades) for your ship.
Many of the upgrades offer unique attack/defense specialties: hull breach, fire, poison gas, magic shield, and more.
Experiment with combining certain effects such as water and electricity to give you the edge in battle.
Discover new combinations to maximize your offensive and defensive options, and help you survive.
Each sailor in Seablip is unique and there is a limited number, so treat them well!
When sailors level up they will earn points to spend on attributes such as Health, Luck, and intelligence.
As they progress, sailors can learn two random skills that can be used to aid them in each battle encounter.
Different battle bonuses are given depending on the faction the sailor belongs to. Pirates, Redcoats, and Bluecoats are some of the factions you’ll come across throughout the game.

Confront the scourge of the seas as you face off against seven bosses in Seablip (more coming soon), each possessing a unique tactic and ship.
While you are free to roam as you please, defeating all the bosses is the main objective in the current Early Access version.

Cast your line and reel in your catch in a robust fishing minigame, as you take a break from conquering the sea.
Discover hidden secrets and treasure, and generally get up to no good as you use your excellent lockpicking skills to great effect.
Other smaller minigames are in development, and will be worked on and improved with the help of the community!

So this game is flawed sure, but I really liked it and had fun... For five hours. That was when I went to bed in game, the game saved and got stuck in a black screen.so anyone buying this should be aware that they are buying a game that can perma lock your save file anytime you save. My first thought was "ok Ill just load an earlier save". Nope, thats not possible, you only have one save. Really disappointing.
For the first 5 hours I had fun, but then it gets REALLY monotonous. Which isn't really all that bad, but something to consider. Ship combat doesn't change too much throughout the ranks. The design is cutesy. Certainly has FTL and Stardew vibes, but not enough of either. I have had a few CTD's when fishing. This is awful because the save system sucks. You save, the days advance. But if you DON'T save often, you can lose lots of items and therefore money. It's punishing. The difficulty from even rank 1 to 2 fights is like a 500% increase in challenge, which is insane and feels awful. You steam roll the entire first map rank 1 ship fights quickly enough, but then you bump into a 2 island or ship, and it's like you went to highest game difficulty. The forum has tons of this same complaint. The devs don't interact very often. We've had multiple bug reports about the fishing, and no replies from the dev. Overall, I give it a 5/10, lukewarm. Wish there was a sideways thumb.
I really wanted to like this game, and it really has an interesting concept, but in the current state, I cannot recommend anyone to play it. Some aspects seem lacking (such as the main story, where the main conflict doesn't seem so deep, or the entirety of the farming part of the game, or the martial combat), the power spike is too steep (can't defeat high-end enemies of the same power level using mutiple strategies), and there are a variety of bugs (when you won the battle and it doesn't register as such, for example), which all lead to an overall frustrating experience. As far as I know, this game is by a solo developer, and building such a big game is commendable, but it just needs to become much better - and polished - to be enjoyable.
Not yet. There are still many rough edges and issues that need to be addressed. It is somewhat slow and grindy. It also feels a lot like FTL, which may be a good thing for some people, but not so much for others.

The game is fun, but it has some issues. - You can fail or miss some events because the game progresses daily, basically when you sleep or die, so you can miss the events of the first week. It's a bit strange, since the rest of the events don't have time limits or conditions. - You have many utility rooms that you can use as healing rooms, extra storage, or even cells. Unfortunately, the game forces you to use a single strategy: ignore everything else and focus on firepower, since most enemy ships of 3 stars or higher have an incredible number of weapons. Therefore, the game becomes a DPS race, which makes all the utility rooms or fun rooms practically useless, since you have very few rooms on your ship. - Difficulty: For some reason, the jump between a 2-star and a 3-star ship is a bit odd. For example, a 2-star enemy ship has 3 to 4 cannons or fewer, along with a few utility rooms; a 3-star ship has 6 to 8 cannons and utility rooms. In comparison, your ships don't even have nearly as many rooms or cannons. - Finally, you have farming, crafting, fishing, and mining, but they have little to no practical use.

with a steam controler: I seriously cant figure out how to work this game, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible controller support, the walking controls and that are fine, any menu control and you will be wishing they let you use the mouse. All KB/M actions are blocked when it detects a gamepad, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. Luckily i have a steam controller and can rebind whatever i want, except use tool.. pretty minor but still, with rebinds make this game annoying. Pretty damn funny that the 'interact towards mouse cursor vs. character direction' toggle does not save no matter what i do, even though by default it was off, i cant keep it turned off now. Sleep save and exit? nope its still set to cursor. Bad and bad, what makes it worse is its a small team, there is no board room ♥♥♥♥ to force it out. Just a couple of devs pushing out THIS.
