I normally don't play games like this, but I figured it would be fun to try something new. Although I fell many times, I got much further than I expected to, and I was thoroughly entertained for the 45 minutes I was climbing. Pros: - I can tell you put a lot of time into asset placement and you tested all of the pathways to make sure they were possible. - The assets are colorful and fit together nicely for the "Anime" feel. - The game ran very smooth and I didn't have a single lag spike even with all of the entities on the map. - collecting the cosmetic hats is a nice touch, and it breaks up sections of climbing "just to climb" - Impressive for a first solo developed game, and I encourage you to keep making more games! Cons: - A big collection of store assets makes it feel less genuine. - Character controller feels awkward at times. Overall, this game is fun, costs less than buying lunch, and could be WAY worse. Solid 7/10
Scuttle Up is one of those games that makes you question your life choices. It's like Getting Over It but with its own unique flavor of suffering (and "why-foos"). It tests your patience, precision, and your will to keep going despite everything. I regret every decision leading me to play this game but somehow.. just somehow.. Scuttle Up is 100% worth the pain. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Would I play it again after rage-quitting for the tenth time? …Eventually. 💀 10/10, would cry again.

Satan developed this game, and they've got claws. If you can't resist smashing things, or have a weak heart, don't play. If you can manage rage, 10/10 would play again. Played for a bit and fell many times. Works with controllers. Will climb (fall) again.
fun and hard
Scuttle Up! is an absolute blast! 🎮✨ As someone who loves games like this, I was hooked by the chaotic fun. The controls are smooth, the art style is adorable, and the chaos had me laughing, and raging, nonstop. Perfect for a night of gaming, whether you're a hardcore gamer or just here for the vibes. 10/10 would scuttle again! 🏗️💖
Might be the most addicting, creative rage game I've seen. There are many pathways and easter eggs to find along the way. YEEE CLAWWW
When you think about it, isn't the ultimate goal in life to "Get gud"? It's a neverending quest. Well this game gives you something else to get gud at. It's hard, but not in a crappy rng way. It's the type of hard that makes you rage, but at the same time makes you WANT to keep playing to get better and better. I actually found myself getting the hang of it, but as soon as you get the hang of one section, it gets just different enough to challenge you a bit more! Also, the little easter eggs are super fun to find, and the hats are extra fun to find too! This game deserves the kinda hype chained together or getting over it got, tbh. It's just plain fun, for a price you REALLY can't beat. My friends are actually planning to buy the game because it looked so fun, and I'm organizing a race between all of us to get to the top! The jumping mechanics take a bit of time to get used to, but not in a "bad control" kinda way, but in a way I've seen other platformers do, kinda like Okami or that one Prinny game way back when comes to mind (I'm sure most of you have NO clue what that second one is, but I feel the jumping in Okami is a comparison I feel like a lot of people will understand). Honestly, I genuinely recommend this game, as I've had a ton of fun with it so far, and that's coming from someone who never plays games like this. I agree with another reviewer. Put on your fav music, and just have a blast with it!!! 10/10 for sure <3 Don't be crabby, BE the crab!
The movement feels good and the platforming is well thought out with multiple avenues to approach the ascent and interactables along the way to spice it up. The hats are cool and there's easter eggs scattered throughout. It checks all the boxes.
This game is fantastic!! I am so glad I got to play early access! Look under the water for a Easter Egg of my recommendations! Scuttle Scuttle!
No controller support makes this extremely frustrating to play with just 8 directions. Using the camera to aim my jumps feels weird even after switching to keyboard and mouse.
