The Prologue of Junkyard Simulator gives you a teste of experience of Junkman's life. You'll be sniffing around, collecting items, visiting the scrap market, and carring out a full renovation of car parts and home appliances. Driving a truck and beating a Junkyard Challenge is the icing on the cake.

Played through the entire Prologue and well here's my thoughts. Pros - I didn't encounter any bugs or glitches and was able to complete the entire Prologue in one go. However, it seems I'm in the lucky camp as others are reporting quite a lot of issues. Cons: - This honestly felt like a tech demo, not a prologue of a game that is set to release in 2 weeks time. Still accurate post patch 9-7-2020 - Tools held in the hand feel too large, or there is a resolution issue because they completely obscure what you are doing. Still accurate post patch 9-7-2020 - Tendency to get "stuck" on things if you walk too close to them. Somewhat vetter post patch 9-7-2020 - The quest system phone call locks you out of EVERYTHING else until it finishes. This SHOULD NOT happen. Still accurate post patch 9-7-2020 - Graphics are "ok" at best. I saw no way of adjusting or even shutting off BLOOM which can be blinding sometimes. Still accurate post patch 9-7-2020 - Options menu has some odd translations to English language, had to even ask what they were in the discussions. Still accurate post patch 9-7-2020 - Keyboard Control Settings are a MESS. Multiple, and I mean MULTIPLE things bound to the same key with lackluster explanation of why. For instance Drive Forward = W is all that's needed. Not a section for every instance of things you can drive. Still accurate post patch 9-7-2020 - No OPTIONS on main menu. Why? The music and sound effects are DEAFENING when you launch the game. Still accurate post patch 9-7-2020 - The Mini Game aka throwing a ball at cans...Why does this even exist? Sure its fun I guess but in a junkyard "simulator" this is 100% wasted development time that could have absolutely been spent elsewhere. EDIT, post patch 9-7-2020 I wasn't able to even get to the minigame since the quest no refuses to progress past renovation stage. With that being said, as a tech demo you may see when a game is in the concept stage, this would be fine. For a demo of a game set to release in two week, no, I cannot recommend this in its current form.

Look imma be honest here 3 years 3 years of coming soon 3 years of push backs and saying "just a little more testing" and well looky here a prologue that's 5 min of game play and 25 min of driving that no one can control and I forgot to mention the fact that the main element of the game so far that you get to see doesn't even work in all honesty if your still hyped for the full release just give up and find something else you'll be a skeleton by the time they release it and its not a buggy piece of crap
This game has soo much potential but i just feel that the developers have focused on the wrong things and we have waited so long for a game which has had the wrong things worked on them. We kept getting told of delays because of translations but if they had spent less time trying to get it in multiple languages and more time in just getting the movement mechanics feeling good it would have been time better spent. I had severe motion sickness when it first started until i found the setting to turn head bob off. It felt like everything was surrounded by an invisible wall and i couldnt walk in some areas and couldnt get up close to other items. Radio was annoying and was instantly turned off however this was only after i noticed that the game was trying to play 3 different songs at the same time. The game mechanics are not well explained as i have no idea why the overhead map kept getting static and other areas were fine. A simple map would also be great as i spent most of the play time lost and continually walking into invisible barriers. As said before the game has great potential and this is just a taste of the full game but im hoping we have our own junkyard to run and upgrade and its not just buildings separated by huge drives from one place to another. Also i was hoping for perhaps a sense of humour nothing over the top or crazy like Barn Finders but just something that adds a little flavour to the world but nothing that was shows in the teaser. I did notice that in the controls there was mention of beer and farting but seriously. The world seemed lifeless as well i did see a bird or at least i think it was a bird as it was pretty horrible graphically kind of a mix between a duck and a lump of wood. Apart from that there has been a lot of detail added to other parts of the game and the world is huge and i could see a possibilty of finding some real lost treasures hopefully without the rushing with a countdown. I found a sea container which i thought would be fun to explore and then all of a sudden there was a counter and it turned into a mad scramble of throwing things everywhere and hoping i could find anything of value. Speaking of throwing... why are we throwing balls in a junkyard... ?? Driving is terrible but im assuming its just a few glitches, i loaded up the truck got in and turned off the hand brake all of a sudden the truck was in the air and the 5 items i found were scattered all over the place. And why cant we just have a free look camera why press a button to look left or right. If your going to make a simulator the develops should probably play a few of the good ones first. I would recommend the game but hopefully the full release is very different of maybe come back to it 6months after release to see if its better or the developers just gave up. But hey from what i hear it comes in a lot of languages.
Shame. Seems the game devs abandoned this game within 10 days of announcing that they would be posting updates every few days... Looks like they released 1 update total (looking at update history) and that was now over a year ago with no current news or any form of communication. Would say this was a cash grab except they listed the alpha for free so I don't understand why they would just abandon it.
well looks like a good game just doesnt play like one i have tried to load the first 5 items in my truck 3 times now each time it crashes the controls feel clunky graphics are rubbish poor optimisation just sort it out this game when sorted will be great i think but at the moment not even worth the free prologue
I was really looking forward to this game , I was having a good time till i got in the car! horrible controls car flipped because i went near the to be continued side and wouldn't let me reset the car anywhere walked around trying different places till i gave up and uninstalled the game.
this game has a long way to go before i would say its finished.. the truck... it need a lot of work in the physics department.. drivning in 30km/h and can barely have a grip on the road. just sliding around like the road was covered in ice.. also a fully loaded truck without the handbreak but standing still can apparently still slide sideways even if are standning still. Did anyone try to think about the Weight of the car, friction between the tires and the ground, the weight of the items in the car and stuff like that? NO they didnt.. driving on a road can currently make the truck do a backflip. this while drivning in 40km/h.. i tried to see how slow i could do with the truck and still slide.. well about 10km/h.. and if you have ever driven a car.. you know a car dosent start slidning around with screetching tires on the road in that speed when you turn the steering wheel just by a little.. oh yes.. the R function.. that lets you flip your car if its flipped. well that function rarely works.. worked for me ONCE. the rest of the times i found out its easier just to gas and turn the steeringwheel left to right over and over again and suddenly the car almost starts to fly upside down.. this is just comments about the truck.. the truck is important since it actually takes you places in the game. if i would start on the rest of playable content.. well this would turn into a book.. the prolog feel more like pre alpha to me.. but seriously.. the music at the pawnshop.... the one who added that.. tell that person to quit their job and leave NOW.. considering all the ♥♥♥♥ thats wrong with the game.. and the main idea.. i would say i would like to try the finished product and write another review.. :P
I love simulators but Scrapyard Simulator Prologue is no simulation! In fact it feels more like a hoarders dream collection where one tries to find crap. Not to mention that when you do find the item your looking for it never really lets you know it is the right thing and you might end up dropping it. So after more then 30 mins of running in circles, adjusting the PIGGY GPU SYSTEM that this game requires, I would not bother as there seem like nothing to do in this prologue.. TOTAL THUMBS DOWN!
─▄▄─▄▄▀▀▄▀▀▄ ███████───▄▀ ▀█████▀▀▄▀ ──▀█▀ ♥️♥️
Took 4 hours to finish this free 1st prologue demo. Had too much fun making trips to find and sell my scrap metal. Loved the beat up old truck you get. It did take me awhile to figure out how to sell my scrap though but became addicting once I did. There's a lot of game play for a demo. When you learn to renovate items later on, the last bonus game was true fun. Can't wait to play the 2nd prologue now. The full game will definitely be on my wish list. If ya haven't played this one yet, your're missing a real gem!
