The Armchair Historian brings you a new turn-based strategy game set in the Victorian Era. As muskets become rifles and infantry is confronted by modernizing artillery, it is imperative to adapt to a rapidly changing battlefield. This is a new age, not of courage and chivalry, but of Blood and Iron.

i mean, for a dollar yea its def worth it. i can understand how u could be disappointed if it was so hyped but if u go in w low expectations, its actually not that bad. def not a fan of the timers bc i wanna be able to take it in and the settings for some reason dont work. now $10?.. eh, i honestly still think it would be worth it but again, expectations. but why is it 10 gigs tho? i dont get that. no crashes tho so theres that
my favorite part in this game was when Griffin Johnsen the Armchair Historian said first we fire, then we maneuver, lets fire and maneuver
I've not had any of the difficulties that many of the negative reviews here seem to indicate. The game has never crashed, frozen, or broken for me, and I've really enjoyed playing timeframes not often represented in games. That said, it's a little dull after some time. The combat gets repetitive and the campaign is really the only reason I keep playing.
Im a big fan of the belle epoch time period, its really underrepresented in gaming, i came in knowing the game "had issues" and fully willing to put up with bugs to play. However, the game is very literally Not playable at all, this is because every battle against the AI reliably freezes or disconnects from server at around turn 12 or so, making it impossible to finish any battle at all. The game further is completely online, requiring you to create/connect to a server for battles against the AI, if you launch and play the game offline, you simply cannot create a match nor play the campaign/historical battles. Why should I ever have to connect to an online server in order to play against AI is beyond me, the fact the game loses connection every single battle fully makes this shovelware. Its a real shame bc I am a big far of the Armchair Historian channel (the guy behind this game), and I hear he made a new game but sadly its in an earlier time period im less interested in so I wont be playing that one either. I was ready to love this one despite its flaws but it just cant be played.
this game is a jank piece of ♥♥♥♥. i know this was the developers first attempt at a game and they more than made up for it with MoC, but as for this game i can strongly recommend not buying it unless its like a dollar or less. because it can be fun but only until you have had to reload your save for the 5th time because a bug broke your entire army stack.
first before anything its very leggy and stutterers between every movement. aside from that the controls and how to actually play are not at all clear. unless you enjoy being frustrated, i would stay away from this one. also consider it a single player vs ai game. ive never seen other game lobbies open.
lovely game, lovely art, big fan of how the system works even if i dont have much experience with it, check out some other reviews since i only have 3 hours, lol game feels pretty balanced as-well.
i love cocck
the game is extremely fun and enjoyable tho the amount of bugs and crashes is ungodly this game DESTROYED my old pc but i literally I mean it the thing's CPU lterally overheated and broke while playing this so while it's extremely fun be warned
Half-baked, janky, abandoned but absolute fun when the game decides to actually work
