Now I know the game is buggy as hell right now, and it honestly shouldn't be paid in this state, but what is there currently is a brilliant set of ideas, some need to be expanded on more but from what I've seen the devs behind the project are very creative and use the SCP concept in many unique ways. I know it's easy to be negative, but if we ever want good SCP games to be made, we gotta be a bit more supportive of aspiring devs, instead of just insulting them cause of bugs.

Absolutely NOT recommended, the game is not even in a alpha stage and they are charging 7-10$ for it. I will update my review if the game gets better but DO NOT waste your time nor money. Edit: There seems to be a misunderstanding of a game in "Early Access". Early access does not excuse a game from being UNPLAYABLE. The actual round mechanic itself is barley functional and highly unreliable, so you're not playing the game for matches or rounds, instead you are playing until you get bored of running around a empty facility. The people supporting this game and failing to understand what making a game actually means aren't even playing it. Stop supporting terribly made games based on *What you think the game will turn out to be*. Instead, review what you paid for, not promises.
Well, I'll try to give an objective opinion of the game, bearing in mind that it's an Early Access. First of all, I'm quite surprised by the number of comments expressing surprise at the game's numerous bugs. This makes perfect sense, given that this is Early Access, and that the game was released only a few days ago. However long the development team has been working on the game, that's not what determines whether or not it's good. I prefer a studio that spends 15 years working on its game and delivers a quality product in its final version, rather than one that would be tempted to do what Cyberpunk did on the day of its release. It seems obvious to me, but opinions during Early Access need to take a step back and look at all the layers that make up the game, and determine whether or not the sequel is worth following. So, I'll answer this simple question: YES, IT IS IMPERATIVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE EVOLUTION OF THIS GAME. Let's start with the graphics. Personally, as my PC allows me to do so, I was able to enjoy a relatively fluid gaming experience with Ultra graphics (+120 FPS). The game is beautiful, and as a very old SCP:SL player, I'm amazed at the quality of the graphics and environments. There's a sense of immersion, and the sound effects are very good, even if some sound effects and mastering are still missing from certain scenes. In fact, there are occasional visual artifacts, generation errors or areas where you fall into a void. But that's not what I take away from my gaming experience: I was there to test, and help the team pinpoint any bugs or problems I may have encountered. Gameplay-wise, it has to be said that it's still a bit messy. In fact, you don't really know where to go or what to do. The map is really huge, and it's hard to find your bearings, as can be the case with SCP:SL. I do think that a tutorial in the future will make it easier to understand what's going on, what to do and how to play your character. All the same, I found the experience enjoyable, finding yourself lost, in Class D, having to get out without knowing where or how. It encourages immersion and discovery, and being a great role-player, it didn't bother me too much. On the other hand, it can quickly become tiresome, as it's easy to get lost in the maze of endless corridors. It remains to be seen how the studio will find a solution to these technical and level design challenges. As far as networking is concerned, it works. It's clearly not incredible, there are still some desyncronization problems, but I'm not worried that these bugs will be solved quickly. That hasn't stopped me from enjoying my few games with friends. What's reassuring is that the bulk of the technical stack is in place and more or less functional. The bulk of the work is done, now it's just a matter of fixing the leaky pipes. Having had the chance to take part in play tests and alpha tests of games from numerous AAA studios, I can assure you that I was pleasantly surprised by the performance and rendering of this first version. Generally speaking, these test phases are difficult to play, there are lots of bugs, and many people also have problems launching the game. I can understand those who take offence at not being able to launch the game or finish a game after shelling out a few bucks, but that's also what it means to participate in the development of an Early Access game. Many of the comments I've seen here complaining about bugs haven't even been posted on the Discord. I strongly recommend that the developers put up a warning at game launch stating that this Early Access is not expected to have a perfectly stable and playable game. To be honest, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this game. I think there's a lot of potential, all the technically challenging pieces are there, now we just have to solve them, but once that heavy lifting is done, I don't see what's going to stop SCP:EC from finding its audience. Now is the time to support the studio, and help boost the morale of the development team. Negative, unconstructive remarks have never moved the world forward, so this will only set back a small independent studio. For all these reasons, I can only recommend this game, even though it's still young and in the testing phase.
It's trying to be SCP secret laboratory if you removed all the fun from it and replaced it with more frustration why is the responding if 50% of the time you get respawn in a room and you can't leave. Everyone is constantly A opposing. This game feels like it has no point it needs major reconstruction to even be playable. There are free games from the SCP universe in the same genre as this game so go play them. scpsl https://store.steampowered.com/app/700330/?snr=1_5_9__205 scpcbm https://store.steampowered.com/app/1782380/?snr=1_5_9__205
This game is still in its early stages but oh my god the potential is amazing, there's not a lot of SCP games out there, sure this is just like secret lab but they did it so much better, you can wear different clothing, disguise yourself as the enemy.. Even the designs of the SCPs are great. This game is definitely going somewhere. As of right now there's only Russian servers or at least that's all I can see. So maybe for the time being save your money but when this game is in it's later stages and there's more servers it's a must get for SCP fans. I would've spent double what I payed for this game with more servers if not more
Absolutely nothing against this game, it looks good, but doesn't play good. Definitely needs more time in the oven. I've got a couple suggestions for the devs; 1) Keycard Respawns. You can barely exit the first area as a Class-D 2) Automatic respawns rather than manual, and make more players able to respawn at a time 3) Make the SCPs actually a threat
