SCHROTT: Roguelike Racer

really nice game, with a nice soundtrack. if you like roguelikes or racing games, I can only recommend it.

Das Game hat direkt Bock gemacht. Tempo passt, Chaos passt, Humor passt. Wurde zwar ein paar Mal aufgrund meiner eigenen Inkompetenz komplett hops genommen, aber irgendwie war’s jedes Mal witzig und ich wollte direkt wieder in ne neue Runde. Schrott mit Suchtpotential :D

Not bad for a roguelike junkpunk racing game in Early Access. Small thoughts: 1. Maybe allow for rear-engine setups in future? 2. Multiplayer, and maybe team races etc. 3. A Cops and Robbers mode of sorts.

This feels like it was made just for me! Such a cool and unique game. I like collecting all the scrap! And awesome soundtrack!

Hat viel Potential, macht aber jetzt schon ordentlich Spaß. Es ist auch herausfordernder als man denkt. Typisch Rogue-Like: man kann nicht aufhören, man will es noch eine Runde probieren. Das kann das Spiel. Bin gespannt, was noch alles an Fahrern und Upgrades entwickelt wird.

Yes and no, really...I really enjoyed Haste, which has similar gameplay so I thought Schrott would be another gem. It's not imo. It just feels too linear and half of the game plays itself. I expected to at least have control over the throttle and braking but the vehicles drive themselves. What i do like is the very responsive handling and how each level is randomly generated. Also the progression system with upgrades develops a fine loop and that "one more run" feeling. On the downside is currently the performance. One might think that it should be no problem running this in 4K even on a midrange PC (4070) but it barely hits 60fps. Upscalers like DLSS are missing but could help a lot with achieving high framerates. To me, it all boils down to the decision to not give players full control over the vehicles. And that makes the game feel far inferior to Haste. I personally don't like it but as it'searly access, thingsmay change over its runtime.

Very fun and aesthetically pleasing game! I just love the combination of a racing game with rogue lite elements.
