This game is very very bikin puyeng karena semua muanya angka & nyari petunjuk. The butcher is overpowered cuz he will butch you out even you have a timing for juke.
a really bad game dont even think of buying it
Scholar's Mate, developed and published by JanduSoft, is a first-person psychological horror experience that blends escape-room puzzle design with stealth-driven survival tension. Set within the crumbling interior of a psychiatric hospital, the game casts players as Judith, a woman who awakens with fragmented memories and must navigate the labyrinthine building to uncover the truth behind her captivity. From the outset, the atmosphere is heavy and oppressive, establishing a slow-burn tone that prioritizes unease and mental strain over sudden spectacle. The gameplay centers on exploration and puzzle-solving. Players move through interconnected rooms filled with locked doors, coded mechanisms, environmental clues, and interactive objects that must be examined carefully. Many puzzles demand attention to detail, requiring players to piece together scattered hints from documents, symbols, or environmental arrangements. The design leans into traditional escape-room logic, rewarding patience and observational skill rather than quick reflexes. Some puzzles are elegantly constructed, offering satisfying “aha” moments when disparate clues align. Others are more obscure, occasionally bordering on trial-and-error territory, which may test player persistence. What distinguishes the experience from standard puzzle adventures is the presence of a stalking antagonist. Eddie, the figure pursuing Judith, introduces a layer of constant threat that forces players to balance logical reasoning with stealth awareness. Noise, light, and movement can attract his attention, turning methodical puzzle-solving into tense hide-and-seek scenarios. This mechanic adds unpredictability, heightening immersion as players must sometimes abandon careful planning to avoid detection. However, the stealth systems themselves remain relatively simple, and repeated encounters can feel formulaic once patterns are understood. Narratively, the story unfolds gradually through environmental storytelling rather than extended cinematic sequences. Documents, room details, and subtle interactions reveal fragments of the hospital’s dark history and Judith’s connection to it. The game avoids heavy exposition, instead allowing players to assemble the narrative through discovery. This approach reinforces the psychological tone, creating ambiguity that lingers throughout much of the experience. While the plot remains focused and intimate rather than expansive, it maintains enough intrigue to carry players forward. Visually, the game captures a claustrophobic atmosphere through dim lighting, narrow corridors, and decaying interiors. Textures and models may not rival larger-budget horror titles, but the art direction effectively supports the unsettling setting. Flickering lights, distant echoes, and ambient sound design enhance tension, making even quiet moments feel charged with potential danger. The first-person perspective amplifies immersion, placing players directly within the environment rather than observing events from a detached viewpoint. Despite its strengths, the game’s pacing can fluctuate. Extended stretches of puzzle-solving may slow momentum, particularly when solutions are not immediately clear. Additionally, its relatively contained length limits long-term replayability once puzzles and story beats are known. However, this concise scope also keeps the experience focused, avoiding unnecessary padding. Overall, the game succeeds as a compact psychological horror adventure that combines cerebral puzzle design with measured stealth tension. Its strengths lie in atmosphere, environmental storytelling, and the fusion of escape-room mechanics with survival elements. While it does not reinvent the horror genre or offer deeply complex stealth systems, it delivers a tense and immersive journey for players who appreciate methodical exploration and intellectual challenges within a haunting setting. Rating: 6/10
The game is challenging in many ways. Strong puzzles where you really have to use all your brain cells, the hunt from good Eddie and a good horror story. The only difficulty is the speed when walking while bent over. Overall, it's a really good game.
