Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/bGk77eOCY-I So I did enjoy playing this game. However, I was also a bit confused throughout playing this game. This is one of those unique games that could use a much better tutorial that explains all the mechanics. Instead, we get these pictograms that only explain the very basics. I did have fun. This is an odd game to explain, but it's basically a scavenging game. You're scavenging for lots of stuff, including dinosaur eggs. The trick is that there are roaming dinosaurs about that get upset if they hear or see you taking stuff from their domain. You're basically reeling in stuff using an magnetic lasso type gun. You can throw a sonar bullet to get a good idea where stuff is. Unfortunately, I only got to experience one area. Luckily, there seemed to always be different configurations. I see the store page has other areas that can be unlocked, but I don't know how you unlock them. I assume you just have to collect enough stuff and maybe you have to hatch enough dinosaur eggs. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting variable frame rates from 45 to 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs, however, the game does start in a foreign language, but it is easy enough to change from the settings that are clearly visible. There is no locomotion or turning, it is a stand-still and turn IRL game. The visuals are good. The sounds are just passable. The gameplay can get a bit repetitive, but there seem to be other types of bullets that I wasn't able to unlock that may add more depth to the gameplay. Either way for only $10 USD, I enjoyed the experience for what it was. I just wish it had been better explained. Rate ?/10. Need to understand game better before I could rate it properly, but it is a positive early impression.
If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator Group.
