Scarytales: All Hail King Mongo

An ok short HOG. pros. ok story simple easy cons. voice acting is not that good. i feel like there are 2 people who done all of it (or even one person) had one puzzle at the end where some rings weren't matching up :/ short exactly 1 and half hour for the main story no bonus story over all despite all the listed cons i did enjoy the story but it is just too short. i only recommend it highly discounted. 5/10

In this video I take a look at Scarytales: All Hail King Mongo a hidden object adventure game. All you HOG fans can celebrate, here is a new offering from HH-Games and Urchin. It's an older game released to Steam but apart form it's lack of 16:9 it holds it's own with the current titles. It holds a great story and adventure with some really nice puzzles and HOG's. Once again it has a very attractive price so take a look. Pretty short game, even w/o Hints - finished it in 1.4h. The translation (i used german) was pretty good - didn't encounter any errors during HO-sequences i had in other games due to spelling-mistakes. Resolution could be a bit higher during those HO-parts tho, it's pretty hard sometimes to find smaller objects bc you simply can not distinguish between the object and it's surroundings. Sometimes, you can reuse items. That threw me off a bit and i got stuck for a couple of minutes. For example: You light a fire. Then u use a piece of wood as torch to scare an animal. You can not reuse that burning piece of wood. Later you find a torch and light it up at the same fireplace as b4. But THAT torch, you can AND have to use twice - once to light up a room. Then pick it up again and burn some plants later. 2nd thing that threw me off was the gargoyle-statue. There is no logical thinking behind attaching a couple of balloons to it, filling them with air for them to raise the gargoyle-statue. That's not how things work - should've used at least smth lighter than air. Overall i'd leave a rating between Thumbs up and Thumbs down. Thumbs down if you pay the 4 Buck as full price, bc it's not "worth" so much. Thumbs up, if you can get it in a Bundle - paid 5 Bucks for like 8 or 9 games - which is a nice pricetag for a short but still fun game.

Ahahahahahahah! The bad guy forgot there is "an item" that can negate his powers and was overly shocked in the end by it!! All the while [b]he[/b] was the one who put a magic shield around said "item"!!! XD Otherwise the game is.............. Short and okay. It's nothing fancy. It didn't glitch and well... That's pretty much it.

Basic, short Hidden Object game. Wouldn't purchase it on its own, though. It came in a very discounted bundle with other games, that's the only reason I have it and the main reason I'm not being too demanding with my review. The animations are basic and honestly ugly looking when it comes to the characters. The dialogues are very few and brief, maybe to save costs. As a work around you find out most important plot points through notes or letters. Even when you're standing next to a character at one point... The Hidden Object sections were good, definitely the highlight of the entire game, but the puzzles were clunky and boring. Expect a lot of aligning of things. Also, the logic for solving certain scenarios is super wacky. Had to break a statue at some point. Hammer? No, wouldn't work. Gunpowder and matches? No, got to be something else. The answes: Tie six balloons to the statue, fill the balloons with regular air so the rock solid statue somehow levitates, and then proceed to shoot each ballon with an arrow to have the statue fall down and break into pieces. Just insane. Why am I giving this a positive review? It's an okahy enough game, it doesn't bug or glitch like some others I've encountered, and it doesn't pretendt to be something bigger than what it actually is. Just something quick and mindless you can play to pass the time when bored.

Just save your money and don't buy this. Even if it's on sale. DON'T BUY IT.
