Цікава пригодницька гра коридорного типу із механіками переродження після смерті і відновлення ворогів. Я таке люблюю.
This game, in so many aspects, feels unfinished, rushed and the team seems unexperienced. There are so many moments genuenly lacking - the pacing, aesthetic or cineastic flow and storytelling. Easy mode is not as forgiving as it sounds. Well it is a soulslike light, with more style than substance open areas and a semi metroidvania feeling. I'm not a big fan of the souls formula but found it challenging enough, yet not too unfair to ragequit. After six hours I checked the reviews and felt like there is something missing. Because it still manages to entertain for a short amount of time and gave me the avareness, that out there not every developer is perfect. But! they made a game and I never could do that, so I decided to give them the recognition. It has love and passion in it. Give it a try, at best for some hours straight.

Overall score 6.5/10 Just completed the game and wanted to start NG+ but the game doesn't allow that. Instead, you have to start over completely. All skills and items obtained wiped clean. I'm done here. As for the game, it should be classified as a horror genre. The overall energy is very dark and not suitable for minors, young adults, and/or people of higher vibration. Stay away from this demonic-inspired creation from Hell. Bad camera angle made it difficult to locate enemies; no ability to increase the Field of View; sprinting sometimes works and other times doesn't work; bad lightings and your flash lights doesn't turn on in certain area with poor visibility; a lot of jump scare moments that quickly became annoying. These things add up to make the overall game play unpleasant. No area map which made exploration a confusing mess as you navigate the labyrinth of cave passages that looks like intestinal tracks (very gross). Unattractive main character. smh... Pros: Good story; good weapon effects; variety of offensive skills; creative environment design; good sound effects; Cons: As noted above.
Good narrative driven experience similar to games like Revenant, if a little short. The game is linear with set maps. No procedural generation, no exploration. There's no replayability because of this, but for what it is, it was good. Maybe tuned a bit too easy. On the middle of the three difficulties I died probably around 10 times in total, most of it in the first half of the game when I was getting used to things. I rarely used any gadgets or consumables beyond the shield and the heal. There was really no need for them. Worth a playthrough if you're into sci-fi narratives and *very* light Souls-ish gameplay. Definitely wouldn't call it a Souls-like, but it has some elements like "bonfires" to save, heal, and respawn enemies. Combat isn't much like a Souls game, though. Many bosses can be beaten through brute force as long as you keep shooting and dodging damage, though it's very inefficient to ignore their mechanics and weak points. One boss wasn't able to be beaten conventionally and required some mid-combat puzzle solving to deal damage. It was fun. Wish more of the bosses were like that. Was able to 100% the game in just under 10 hours on the first playthrough. No need to run back for another achievement. No walkthroughs, guides, or hints used. All but two or three achievements you'll get simply by playing to the end of the game. The others you'll most likely get along the way without trying. All in all, 7.5/10.
Have you ever played a Sci-Fi game and thought, "Man, this is great, but I wish this had more alien gorillas in it." Well, Scars Above is here to deliver. First boss, alien gorilla. Last boss, alien gorilla. And in-between, dozens of alien gorillas, I'm talkin' wall to wall alien gorillas. Mass Effect may have had aliens you could fiddle like a Stradivarius, but none of them were alien gorillas. Warhammer 40k might have had Orcs and Space Marines and such, but as far as I know, few if any alien gorillas. No Man's Sky had a pathetic opening followed by a triumphant redemption, but alien gorillas? I don't know, maybe? I never bothered with that game, but it definitely can't bet Scars Above, the premier alien gorilla sci-fi property. Final Score: an absurd amount of alien gorillas/10. It was okay, could've been worse.
