Its an ok little horror puzzle adventure sort of game. Voice acting isn't too bad, gameplay is ok and has a lot of story and lore to it. The AI is dumb and you can't really get away once spotted by an enemy which is a bit dumb. Not the best but far from the worst. Worth a try on sale for cheap. 5/10
Perfect for a Halloween night! This is a neat little Indie-Horror title with elements of exploration and stealth. Divided in three parts Sanity of Morris can easily be finished within 3-4 hours, including collectibles. The game does a great job at level design and progression, it's not the greatest or most innovative game ever, but it has a good pacing, switches up the gameplay just the right amount so it doesn't get boring, but it's also not a very challenging game. Given the fact that it is about aliens, taking the story seriously is a little difficult sometimes, but I feel this is on purpose. The team clearly tried to make an homage to other titles that were the OGs of the genre. Similarities to F.E.A.R., Half life and Prey can be found everywhere and it just works as a nostalgic trip. If you're not expecting the best game ever, yet are in for a devent one-sitting horror-experience this is the game for you. And for 1.50$ on sale it's basically a steal.
Part of me thinks this would have made a better slow burn mystery game than what it wound up actually being. I enjoyed exploring the house, looking for "clues" that were left behind. The "afraid of the dark" element was rather dumb, as were the hallucinations when you'd pick up objects, but I still liked the first area. Then the game decided to be a stealth/horror game instead and wound up just kinda blah. It immediately throws out the mystery elements for hiding from enemies and basically everything after the first zone felt like a chore. To be fair to others, I tend to be overly critical of horror games, so you may still enjoy it. I just wound up feeling disappointed.
While the story as a whole is not too bad, this game suffers from really annoying mechanic where when inspecting things in hand the main character flips out and the objects turn into spiders or skulls etc and this happens throughout the game. Lots of bugs and some puzzle solutions arent very clear. At the end part of the game there's stealth section where enemies will spot and kill you through walls.
Very good game .
