Que ce soit avec sa trame chiptune, son pixel art à la NES, son inspiration évidente de Castlevania ou son knock back DÉCALISSANT, Saint Slayer plaira aux amateurs de Action-Platformer rétro
This game is a great love letter to classic NES era difficult games. Though it may seem brutal at first, once you get into a rhythm the game really flows. Unique world and story with cool and fun bosses. Definitely recommended if you like retro style games
This 2D throwback will remind you how great the NES gaming era was. Only in this case, we have checkpoints, password systems with oodles of secrets to unlock, lovely spritework with good amount of pixelated gore, clever spins on late 80s/early 90s NES gaming tropes, and colouful-yet-brief writing. Bring on more of these, I say!

If you're a fan of the NES Castlevania games or retro games in general, you'll find a lot to love here. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think it was 1989 and I was back playing my childhood NES. It’s very obvious this is exactly what the developer was going for, and they absolutely nailed it. Just like the NES games of the past, Saint Slayer can be challenging, but it always feels fair. And fear not, they’ve included a very generous password system, so when you do run out of lives, you can jump right back into the stage where you failed. The boss fights are excellent, featuring some really original designs, along with a solid variety of enemies that you can read about in the in game bestiary. I also have to give a shoutout to the music. The chiptunes are fantastic! I caught myself humming them long after putting my Steam Deck down. I’d absolutely pick up a vinyl soundtrack if Lillymo ever decides to release one. Best of all, it’s only ten bucks and took me just a weekend to roll credits. I’d love to see these guys make a JRPG with the same NES-inspired vibe. They clearly understand what made these types of games so special.
Awesome game, gota give props for the super fair price, such a steal! Gotta be honest it is definitely challenging, but in a way that seems fair, even when you are frustrated it is always managable. Great for anyone looking for that old school vibe, love all the sprite work and soundtrack too!
Great homage to classic Castlevania. Pretty tough at times but also fair. Highly recommend!
Great game by a great studio! Congrats to Lillymo and LSM!
Pretty great nostalgic dark adventure - go play it!
A great throwback to the old Castlevania's. A bit on the easy side on Normal (took me less than 3hrs to beat) but playing on Classic is a great challenge. The music is good, the pixel art does the job, the gameplay simple, I love it.
Awesome Game. Fun writing. The pixel art and the music are amazing. Just takes a bit of getting used to.
