SailSim

Could have been good, but too lazy to put in keyboard controls for PC, on the one handed dinghy, at least (not tried the others). Using the mouse is simply making the boat do crazy things, and being forced to click on what thing to operate at one time is madness. I want to be able to manipulate my mainsheet and rudder at the same time, using two sets of, preferably user-definable, keys. left and right for one, and also left and right for the other. Finally, a toggle button for the centreboard. I am literally about to leave the house to go and finish up my lvl 1 RYA course, and so far I am rubbish. For a bit of last minute orientation to help me before I go, I'm afraid this software didn't help me at all. I note that in the blurb, the dev states they will add features for PC. Should have stated "Early Access" then. Comments are enabled in this post if the dev feels like feeding back.

Feels like a mobile to PC port (since it is exactly that). Physics works well, the boats act like they normally would, but there isn't as wide a range of content as i thought would come with a simulator that costs £2 or 3$. It makes sense that is isn't the most technical simulator out there, as it is only £2, but it does seem a bit basic, especially with the controls. The whole thing is controlled by a mouse, meaning that you can focus on one specific thing at a time, which means that you have to try and switch fast between the sheet and tiller controls. In a real life sailboat, especially the Laser dinghy, you would have hold of both the main sheet and the tiller at the same time, which therefore means that you can control both at the same time, and in this game, you cannot. Don't get me wrong here, it is great if you want a chill sailing sim, but if you want to get the proper feel of a sailing yacht or dinghy, you should find another, likely more expensive sim, such as eSail. This is a budget option - has all of the basics, but isn't the most detailed. It is good, but not great.

Others are saying the controls are only mouse, but I'm using my laptop keys (WASD + arrow keys) to sail. Maybe that was added since their reviews. I haven't read/looks for instructions and it was easy to pick and play. Perfect for me to introduce the 4 and 6 year old to sailing controls in a fun way. Lots of tutorials about sailing included, great for refreshing my mind and also a sectional random test so you can skip all the tutorials if you know the difference between your keel and your starboard. Only played for about 45 minutes, but already decided it was worth the few pounds it just cost me.

This game is like nothing else out there. Real knowledge of sailing is taught in a great sandbox environment. Constant upgrades this game is developing fast. I've bought copies for my kids and friends, the multiplayer is coming along nicely too! great work by the dev, looking forward to finishing the next challenge.

定価？の３５０円で購入。 画面は綺麗。このクオリティ―でこの価格。 地味なゲームながらヨットの操船はとても面白い。 ①アドベンチャー ②チャレンジ ③レッスン と、３つのモードがあり、 レッスンを12個クリアしないとアドベンチャーは出来ない模様。 難しくは無さそうだが面倒。 チャレンジは課題をクリアする実技で最初は１つだけ。 これもレッスンやチャレンジをクリアしていくと、他の課題が受けらる模様。 チャレンジは初級7つ・中級が９つ見えており、更にその上の級もありそうだが、 レッスンが進めていないので不明。 レッスンは初級が１２個、中級も１２個ある。こちらも更にその上の級がありそうだ。 それぞれに学習とテストがあって、知識問題の様だ。 船体の部位の名前や操作、ロープなどかなりボリュームはありそうに見える。 予備知識がある方なら簡単なのではないか。 私は全くの素人なので、苦戦している。 是非、日本語対応してもらいたい。音声が無くテキストのみなので、それ程難しくないのでは？ 英語とでは専門用語が違うのか分からないが。 ゲーム性を高めるためか、レッスンをクリアする必要があるが、 船を操作したいだけ私にはこれがかなり手間である。 逆に知識のある人にとってもかなり面倒なだけだろう。 レッスンは良いが、レッスンに関係なく操船できるようにしてほしい。 その方が本格シュミレーターっぽい。 レッスンを一つクリアしただけなので、先々の事はわからないが、 真っ平なだだっ広いサンドボックス的な水上で自由に操船練習するモードが欲しい。 アドベンチャーがそれに近いのかもしれない。 （が、レッスンがまだ進められていないのでわからない） 最初のチャレンジ（実技）はサンプル動画に出て来るGetPoints。 湖の様なところで、ディンギー？というのだろうか、シンプルなヨットの舵を操作して、 「湖面に浮いているボトル５本を船体でヒットする」というもの。 横転したり、邪魔な浮きブイに当たるとペナルティがある模様。 このチャレンジでは操作は舵を切るだけだが、車と違ってヨットは思った方向にうまく進めなくて結構難しい。 今後、帆やロープを操作したりも出て来るのだろうか？ とても面白いのだが、英語は得意ではないのでレッスンのノルマが・・。 とは言えとてもおすすめです。本物のヨットに乗ってみたくなるョ。 Win10Pro上で、マウスとキーボードを使用してプレイした。 ゲームパッドにも対応している。 ※追記１　15分ほど更にレッスンをし、計４つクリア。 チャレンジのＢａｓｉｃが全部で３つ解禁となった。 ※追記２　今気づいたがAndroid版が無料でリリースされている。 タッチパッドとは操作性が異なるが、内容は同じものっぽいです。 アンドロイド版は広告が表示され、ラグくておすすめしないが、 試してみるのには良いのでは。少なくともレッスンは問題ないだろう。 ※参考　同じくSTEAMにある「Sailaway - The Sailing Simulator」 という本格ヨットシュミレーターも気になったのだが、 お値段もそこそこするので、まずはSailSimにした。 地形、天候や潮までもが現実の海。移動がリアルタイムとかで、 実際と同じ速度で進み、実際と同じ時間がかかるとか・・ チョットあり得ない。 マルチプレイで競争も可能。日本語も対応。 ロープワークもあるらしい。 セールになったら買ってみようかな。 ※参考２ また「eSail Sailing Simulator」というものもSTEAMで販売されている。 アーリーアクセス時点でのレビューでは、 セーリングに関しては「Sailaway」よりももっと本格的だそう。 ゲームとしての完成度はまだ低いらしい。 とのことだったが、2023年03月時点でアーリーアクセスは終了している。 日本語未対応とのこと。もっと詳細なヨットの解説があり、 より細かな操作が要求されるにも拘らず、 ヨットの事が解っていない私には日本語非対応はつらい。 買ってみたがまだやっていない・・ ※追記３ 「SailSim」の方はレッスンの5つ目をクリアした。 アドベンチャーまで＠7つ・・・ 以上、2023年3月時点でのレビュー。 1年半経過してもVerUpがチョコチョコあるので変わっているかも。 安いのに売りっぱなしにせず、Updateする姿勢はとても嬉しい。

For the price its quite a decent simulator that I feel belongs in the mobile app store. On the pc, you only control 1 thing at a time which probably aligns with the developer's goal of simulating a solo sailor since you probably do 1 thing at a time. The controls are alot more basic than I expected but thats alright, there are a couple of sailing simulators that does a better job out there but they are at a higher price point. If you'd like a simple sailing simulator, I guess this is worth a shot.

très bonne simulation pour un prix dérisoire, qui permet en plus d améliorer son anglais . un bon entrainement avant de louer un voilier , malgres tout il reste des améliorations a apporter au niveaux des contrôles ,mais cela reste très jouable . en résumer si vous aimer les simulations ,allez y les yeux fermer

This is a nice relaxing sailing game, with fantastic sailing information baked in. Super value and will not disappoint.

This game isn't worth $2.99. It's pretty lame. Save your money.
