Not really worth your time
Weird game, from weird devs for weird people. Do not try it if you are don't like despair vibe.
I'm going to give Samosbor a very soft recommendation because if you like to spend a bit of time with some slavjank and have an interest in the Samosbor universe, like I do, then there's some fun to be hard here... For about an hour before it becomes extremely repetitive once you've seen everything the game has to offer after 20-30 minutes. What are you getting in this game? Essentially it's an FPS that's all about going as far as you possibly can through a procedurally generated apartment complex, starting from floor 5 and going until you die, as there is no end to the Gigakhrushchevka since it's a place that continues on into infinite, which is very accurate to the lore. However occasionally a creature with spawn that produces the purple gas that causes a Samosbor event, meaning everything is locked down until the creature is dealt with, and with how huge and sprawling the levels get later on, going back and forth can become extremely tedious experience. However usually keeping quiet, not firing your gun too much and keeping sprint to a minimum lets you get through most levels without a single Samosbor event, usually. The gunplay is okay, some satisfying sound effects, with some familiar sounds from beloved FPS games in the late 90s and early 00s. However the biggest problem you'll find with the sound is there is only one sound slider, and that's unfortunate when music as well atmospheric and ambient sounds are completely drowned out by your weapons and enemies roaming the place, like seriously your weapons are deafeningly loud in comparison to everything else. Other than that you can find scrap around the levels to upgrade your gun to eventually do insane damage and make short work of baddies in the eventually sprawling labyrinths, but there's nothing else in the way of upgrades or anything else that can shake up the gameplay. There's only about 5 enemy types (I hate those bombers) in the whole game and only 1 boss enemy it can make the combat feel really stale very quickly but it's reasonably fun in shorter doses. There's also no level variety at all apart from later floors getting bigger as time goes on, which may be accurate to established lore of Samosbor, but with a world as vast and anomalous as the Gigakhrushchevka this developer could easily justify some really weird and unique areas in your journey. As it stands, this game doesn't really have any longevity whatsoever outside of the curiosity aspect and to step foot into the Samosbor world, and I say that someone who genuinely gets a lot of enjoyment out of playing janky games. So no unlocks, no huge surprises, no proper rogue-ish elements outside of permadeath. And as much as this game misses the mark in numerous areas, it gets one thing extremely right and that is the price. The price is the main reason why I'm not thumbing this game down is because for less than £1 you have yourself a decent little shooter, one you can play once on a quiet evening before feeling like you're satisfied and move on. However if a lot of what I told you puts you off but you're in the market for a really cheap horror-themed FPS, then you're better off with either Glowcoma: Chapter 1 for a more polished and hand-crafted bite size FPS or Unloved for an FPS like this but with tons of depth and actual longevity to its gameplay and systems. But if you can stomach a lot of jank and interested in a quick cheap slavjank shooter to lose a couple of hours in, then Samosbor is perfectly fine for the price you're paying and an decent introduction to the Samosbor universe,
At 1€ You aren't really asking if it's worth your money, you're asking if it's worth your time. Lots of other things you could be doing or games you could be playing. And specifically regarding that, this simply feels like a game that doesn't value your time. The bossfight on level 10 (level 5 since you start on 5) has an elevator that takes a minute to arrive to where you are and then a minute again to bring you down. Fine for a setpiece setup of a boss but you don't respawn at the end of that elevator ride if you die, you start a fresh game, the game is a rougelike in the sense that they couldn't be bothered to implement a save system. If it is a stylistic choice they failed to mark it in any tags and the gameplay is exactly the same on every single run, the rooms being slightly shuffled doesn't count.
