Download went great, install went great, there is a learning curve. I've been using the included Guide and Tutorial Videos to slowly learn each step as I need them. I sailed for a week and have now entered my first event to try and get the achievement. I'm in a solo event called Crimson Wake Pursuit that has 9 different legs or phases and is a sailing of the Caribbean. I love that i can do real time sailing with real, local conditions, any where in the world. I'm actually learning a lot and hope to someday be able to shut off the GPS and learn to navigate with the Sextant and stars. I'm having a blast!

While i recommend this game for people who want to sail, i feel like i should start with some "reality checks", because this game is buggy, and requires you to turn off your VPN in order to sign in. After 2 days of sailing, i was suddenly stuck in the loading in of the world, and it seemed like there was nothing i could do about it. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game did nothing, but eventually i realized that there is a button combination (right shift + left shift + R) that resets your settings, and after doing this the game FINALLY logged me in. I could not find any information about this issue when googling it, so it was pretty frustrating... Its cool that they have the entire world, but for anyone thinking it will be interesting to see their home town and other places in the world, this is NOTHING like MS Flight Simulator 2024. The rough outline of the map is correct, but Buildings are 110% generic grey buildings with some windows, the mountain slopes i checked out are very shallow angles compared to the steep cliffs i expected, and trees seem to just be placed randomly. Buildings and trees also have a very short draw distance, and the small city i checked out was not very recognizable... Ok, so the game is not exactly a polished tripple A title, but the ocean looks surprisingly good, the selection of boats is pretty decent, and it allows you to sail the whole world. You also get the option to use the current real world time and weather for your location, or you can customize it in case you want to test your skills in harsh conditions or whatever. Wind speed only goes up to 40 knots though, and while this is pretty strong wind, a category 1 hurricane is 64-82 kt, so this game can not simulate REALLY harsh weather...

Sicuramente fatto bene ma... ho acquistato la versione precedente ed ora non funziona più perchè non è più supportata dal realizzatore (risposta avuta dal realizzatore a cui ho scritto per sapere perchè il gioco non mi partiva). Dovrei acquistare la versione nuova ma non lo farò, chissà se, fra un anno, non sarà più supportata.

A wonderful game, like MSFS 2020 on the water... Access to the entire world... you can sail around the globe 1:1 with simulated current weather, temperature, waves, and time in every corner of the world. The most beautiful and realistic sea simulation I've ever seen in a game. Watching the live coverage of the Atlantic sail, I was in the same place at the same time in the game, and... Everything was simulated 1:1! - the ocean behaved just like in the live coverage. AMAZING! I love this game. And the developer is still supporting it. WOW. Wspaniała gra, taki MSFS 2020 na wodzie... Dostęp do całego świata....można opłynąć kulę ziemską 1:1 z symulowaną aktualną pogodą, temperaturą, falami, czasem w każdym zakątku świata. Napjpiękniejsza i najbardziej realna symulacja morza jaką w życiu widziałem w grze. Ogladając realcje na żywo z żeglowania przez atlanyk byłem w grze w tym samym miesju o tym samym czasie i? Wszystko było sumulowane 1:1! - ocean zachowywał się tak jak na relacji "on live" NIESAMOWITE! Kocham tą grę. Do tego developer cały czas ją wspiera i udoskonala. WOW.

I would like to publicly thank Richard Knol for the thoughtful and courteous way he handled my support request. I contacted him because my older version of Sailaway was no longer accessible. He responded personally, explained the situation behind the project openly and honestly, and offered a fair and generous solution. What impressed me most was that he took the time to treat my concern seriously instead of sending a generic response. It is clear that Sailaway is not simply a commercial product to him, but a project built with genuine passion and years of personal effort. This level of care, transparency, and respect for a customer deserves recognition. Thank you, Richard, for your kindness and professional approach.

As a long-time player of Sailaway II, I expected the new version to bring something fresh, improved, and innovative. Unfortunately, it does the exact opposite. Sailaway III feels like a step backward. The controls have been made more complicated, confusing, and completely unintuitive. The game is practically unplayable. I’m deeply disappointed and won’t be purchasing anything else from this publisher again.
