It's a decent game. I am quite new to these 'liminal space' games and after playing a few maps you do realize the appeal to messing around in 'abandoned places'. It is basically all about getting into the zone as there is no way to die here so when the game says 'use headphones and play in the dark' it's good enviro advice worth listening to as this game is best enjoyed in short bursts here and there in precisely this setup. Content? As a walking sim it's bit expanded as you do objectives such as finding photo locations, camera filters, odd video tapes and aliens hiding behind trash cans. Some actual well hidden secrets too and code displays. I very much advise to find out if this is a genre you could stomach before doing a buy and then going trough the trouble of refunding.
This is a sideways thumb game but I'm leaning slightly upwards. Bear in mind this is a walking sim at its core, if you hate those then this won't change your mind. + Delivers on the premise. + Just enough proper gameplay to be engaging. + Ambient hints are usually pretty good. + I got genuinely spooked a couple times, and one of them wasn't even scripted but rather the dev setting up the area to trick me into spooking myself. + The secret/easter egg areas are an appropriate level of hidden and the ones that weren't streamerbait were all entertaining in one way or another. +Excellent creative use of public domain assets. - Backtracking can be somewhat excessive even with the sprint button, especially in the outdoor maps. - The vast majority of attempted scares weren't spooky at all. - The constant loud ambient droning was very tiresome and almost always made me less scared. - The flashlight being missable and only appearing in a single very early level makes the arbitrary dark areas that don't show up until the tail end of the game a big pain for no real reason. - The streamerbait secrets had me rolling my eyes. - Some of the clues to the secrets can't be captured on the in-game camera, you have to take a screenshot or write them down. - The achievements for taking about 5x as many photos than what's needed to beat the game are extremely user-hostile when paired with a camera you have to manually reload after every single shot.
An atmospheric horror game where you find yourself wandering through liminal spaces with the goal of photographing anomalies. The abundance of easter eggs and hidden areas is perfect for replayability.
https://youtu.be/-mDWN-FJY0c With the primary focus being photographing clouds of vaper in empty rooms there is not a lot of depth to explore.
Lives and dies on vibes alone, unfortunately. Kind of a boring game since it's lacking plot and gameplay, it's really just a slow-paced collectathon in some cool creepy maps. I wouldn't recommend this one unless you know you're not getting much out of it outside a dozen or so maps to walk around.
Keyboard and mouse controls can't be remapped. Progress is slow and tedious. Nothing scary or spooky about this game. Snooze fest in every way possible.
One of the best and most unique liminal space games I ever played. Great spooky atmosphere from beginning to end.
Welcome to Interior Worlds, well, not really, i can't even remapped my keyboard and i'm not American so i can't even play the game (I uninstalled the switch to QWERTY because it always bugged), it's something asked many times by multiple peoples and nothing is done. The developer doesn't even consider Europe as a market apparently, Lazy dev at this point right ? Ah and, the game is not well optimised :)
cool
