Safety Driving Simulator: Motorbike is an older game from 2016. It's a venerable 8 years old at the time of this review. And, like it says on the box, this is a real boring game.
Motorcycle games should be fast paced and exciting. Take a look at Ride 4, with jawdropping photorealistic graphics, gripping action, pinnacle racing game kind of stuff. This is the exact opposite in all respects. For starters, racing is not okay, because that would be dangerous!
Yeah, this is the motorcycle racing game equivalent of watching dead grass grow. It doesn't? That's my point.
On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers.
The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. Seriously, this looks like a mid 1990's game. Ugly graphics, low poly, big fail.
The controls are super clunky and middling in terms of responsiveness. To make matters worse, there's no mouse input, despite this being sold on PC as if it were a PC game. This is unacceptable and somewhat insulting to PC gamers. It's a good demonstration of the poor attitude the developer has towards PC gamers, and this attitude has resulted in yet another defect in this game.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
Safety Driving Simulator: Motorbike has the insane price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
