Good japan train simulator Cant wait for more rail lines :))

It's early access so don't expect much content yet, but what you get is quite good and polished already. The controls are simple - you're basically driving an automatic car without the need for steering, obviously. You get some switches and toggles related to the topic, nothing too complicated. The graphics are very decent, albeit a bit repetitive. There are nice urban areas and some coastline, with a few tunnels, but I hope we'll get some beautiful rural and mountain environments in the future. What's also very nice is we get spring and winter seasons, along the different weather conditions that not only change the looks but the grip as well. The audio is nicely implemented, too, although I don't understand where the occasional clattering sound is originating from as it's not nearly frequent enough to be from the good old rail gaps. The only gameplay-related thing that annoys me is the constantly changing speed limit. It's not very logical to have a limit of 90 km/h that changes to 120, only to drop at 70 or 45 after 50 meters. You're supposed to get the notification of the new speed limit ahead, but sometimes it comes way too late or not at all, and then there's the schedule to keep so you can't just settle on a safe speed. Fortunately there's an auto-drive toggle when you choose the line, so you can just sit and watch, maybe learn the route before trying it yourself. Or you can just enjoy the ride, admiring the scenery, which is quite relaxing actually.

so cute. omg giving an updoot because this is early access and indie devs, but i do have one big complaint. there's no tutorial and nothing explains the health or the ats system or the speed limit stuff. i tried and failed for an hour before i looked up a youtube video. then i started having fun. has a lot of potential. it's already so beautiful and cute and i am looking forward to updates
