Runes is a unique puzzle game where you need to arrange the marbles in each and every level to match the picture in the upper-right corner. The less moves you use to do that, the more stars you'll earn.

Güzel oyun. Vakit geçirmek için.
Runes, developed by Ede Tarsoly and published by Headup, is a minimalist puzzle game that focuses entirely on logic, efficiency, and deliberate problem-solving. Rather than relying on flashy visuals or elaborate storytelling, it builds its identity around a single, well-defined mechanic and gradually deepens that concept across a large collection of handcrafted levels. The result is a quiet, cerebral experience that challenges players to think carefully about every move while maintaining a clean and distraction-free presentation. The central premise of Runes is deceptively simple. Each level presents a grid filled with colored marbles, each marked with directional arrows that restrict how they can move. A target configuration is displayed, and the player’s goal is to rearrange the marbles to match that pattern using the fewest possible moves. Because pieces can only slide in the direction indicated by their arrows, each puzzle becomes a spatial reasoning exercise that demands foresight and planning. Unlike many puzzle games that allow free movement, Runes imposes tight constraints, turning even small boards into intricate challenges. As players progress through the game’s 120 handcrafted puzzles, the complexity steadily increases. Early levels introduce the mechanics in manageable scenarios, helping players understand how directional limitations affect movement. Gradually, new patterns and tighter layouts emerge, forcing players to anticipate multiple steps in advance. The difficulty curve is measured but noticeable, with later puzzles requiring careful sequencing and occasionally revisiting assumptions about how the board should be approached. Success often comes not from trial-and-error alone but from recognizing patterns and optimizing movement paths. The star-based scoring system adds an additional layer of engagement. Completing a level is only part of the challenge; achieving the optimal number of moves rewards players with higher star ratings. This system encourages replayability, as even completed puzzles can be revisited to refine strategies and improve efficiency. For players who enjoy mastery and optimization, the pursuit of perfect solutions becomes as satisfying as solving the puzzle itself. Visually, Runes adopts a clean and understated aesthetic. The board layouts are simple, with clear lines and vibrant but controlled color schemes that make it easy to differentiate pieces. The minimalist design ensures that nothing distracts from the puzzle at hand. Each movement is readable and deliberate, reinforcing the game’s emphasis on clarity and logical thinking. The interface is intuitive and unobtrusive, keeping the focus squarely on the board. The audio design mirrors the visual simplicity. Soft background music and subtle sound effects create a calm atmosphere conducive to concentration. The soundtrack does not dominate the experience but instead provides a gentle backdrop that supports extended play sessions. Multiple color and music themes offer minor variation, helping maintain a fresh feel over the course of long puzzle-solving sessions. One of Runes’ strengths lies in its consistency. It does not attempt to introduce unnecessary mechanics or narrative elements. Instead, it commits fully to its core idea and explores it thoroughly. This focus ensures that the challenge remains cohesive and that players always understand the rules they are working within. However, this same consistency may also limit its appeal for those who seek dynamic storytelling or mechanical variety beyond spatial puzzles. While the majority of puzzles are logically constructed and rewarding to solve, some later stages can feel demanding to the point of rigidity. Optimal solutions may require precise sequencing that is not immediately intuitive. For some players, this creates a satisfying test of mental endurance; for others, it may verge on frustration. Nevertheless, the game remains fair, with solutions grounded in its established rules rather than arbitrary tricks. Ultimately, Runes stands as a strong example of minimalist puzzle design. It offers substantial content through its large selection of levels and provides replay value through its star-rating optimization system. Its appeal lies in methodical thinking, pattern recognition, and the satisfaction of achieving efficient solutions. For players who appreciate deliberate, logic-driven gameplay free from distractions, Runes delivers a focused and rewarding experience that proves how much depth can emerge from a simple set of well-defined rules. Best game for your brain :) Rating: Excellent 100/100 I need more levels ... just kidding.
Is okay.
Games like this aren't really my thing, but I found it to be a pretty relaxing puzzle game that wasn't too bad at all. I only played up to stage 18, but what was there was solid enough to feel like it might appeal to people who enjoy this sort of game.
It's not bad. Not great either. Fairly intuitive puzzle game, it is super loud however so turn your volume down before opening. Some of the puzzles are a bit of a challenge. Some get dull and repetitive. But for the price tag, I don't regret it at all. Overall I'd give it a 6 out of 10.
