Runes of Avalon - Path of Magic

Their first game was much better. This game uses the carbon copy of the first game (even the map is same) just to add "Magic talisman" mechanic. They just stripped the story script, voice-acting lines, slapped a half-baked "look! now you have a few more ways to cast spells" mechanic, and released it. I don't know why they did not put the first game on steam instead of this second downgrade version. I've just bought this game for the sake of nostalgia, and giving it a thumbs up, for the sake of first game (that is most unfortunately not on steam)

I am apparently the only person in the world that remembers this game being packaged with the Hoyle Board Games CD from the early 2000s or it even existing. I may be going at this from a nostalgia basis... scratch that, I 100% am. However, let's try to look at this objectively. Graphics: Simple. Definately one of those bargain-bin Puzzle games. Don't expect Astarion from BG3 to pop out and give you a massage as you wildshape into a bear. Graphics are just still images. That's it. Gameplay: Good. I will be honest in that I actually got frustrated in moments about how hard some of the puzzles can be. But I always feel like it was something I did, not the game screwing me. I think that's one of the things always bringing me back. Music: Eargasm. Okay, I'll be honest here. Whoever wrote the music for this game went HOG-WILD. There is no conceivable reason a game that cost about the same as a Whopper meal should have music that was stuck in my head for 20 years. That is the only reason I sought this out after that long. It is actually some of my favorite fantasy music tracks and the fact that there's not an album makes me want to rip my arm hair out with a spoon. I am so angry at that that I will eat every baby lamb until they let me listen to this album on Spotify and let me fall to sleep to it every night. I will also be real in that this game is probably the reason I have a thing for blondes. The narrator is a blonde sorceress with a calm and reassuring voice that honestly does things for me in ways I didn't realize until I played this again. The way she says "Your strength gives me courage," makes me turgid. This woman affected me mentally to the point I married a woman that looks a lot like her and that scares me. I am not kidding though. Give me this album somewhere or I will die unhappy. If you know where it is and give it to me, I will fly to your house and personally tuck you in and kiss you goodnight every night for a year in thanks. Controls: It's mouse pointer controlled. Meh. Difficulty: Decent. Like I said. Some of these puzzles got tricky for no reason other than I probably suck and I was too busy listening to the music. If you're good at puzzles, you'll have no issue. Overall Rating: 8/10. Legit the music is 5 of those points if not more. There are far worse game to play if you like puzzles. If your only joy in life comes from triple-A titles or you need crazy amounts of action to get you moist, in a good way; then move on. I'm off to continue my endless crusade to find this album. Like Sisyphus I am bound to Hell in an endless task of working and longing...

Runes of Avalon - Path of Magic - to gra logiczna typu dopasuj trzy klocki - w tym wypadku runy, stworzona przez polskich deweloperów. Wciąga od samego początku. Najpierw jest bardzo łatwo i nie odczuwasz zmiany trudności zagadek, ale nim się obejrzysz mija kilkadziesiąt plansz i brakuje ci czasu do ukończenia bo zrobiło się trudniej. Zagadki - tu jest nie najgorzej, bo dopasowywanie klocków nie zamyka się w standardowym modelu "dopasuj 3 ", ale i w innych wariacjach. Są tutaj także puzzle, z których układamy zdjęcia, czy tworzymy zaklęcia ruczniczne, wybierając na czas potrzebne składniki. Co ciekawe istnieje fabuła, która kontynuuje wątek z pierwszej części gry. Tak, Path of Magic to kontynuacja Runes of Avalon, (w którą miałem przyjemność grać niestety tylko w wersji Trial), której to walczymy jako młoda adepka magii przeciw czarownicy Morganie, a pomaga nam czarodziej Merlin. Soundtrack pasuje do całości, może się spodobać, niestety jest to tylko kilka utworów i mogą z czasem nużyć. Grafika się broni, choć od premiery pierwszej części nic się nie zmieniło. Nadal moim zdaniem cieszy oczy. Największe mam jednak pretensje do twórców. Chodzi mi o brak polskiej wersji językowej, zwłaszcza że za grę odpowiadają Polacy. Słowem to świetny odstresowywacz i należy go podawać w maksymalnie dwugodzinnych dawkach, inaczej znuży. Dla zawziętego gracza, to rozgrywka na jeden, może dwa wieczory. Plusy: + Fabuła, choć szczątkowa, nie przeszkadza cieszyć się grą, zwłaszcza że to kontynuacja, + Różnorodność zagadek, i runów, choć dość powtarzalna + Soundtrack + Stylistyka grafiki + Grywalność Minusy: - Gra jako kontynuacja, nie powala, powinno się to traktować jako dodatek do części pierwszej, a nie oddzielny produkt, - Soundtrack, zbyt mało utworów, niestety użyty także w części pierwszej, oraz w ROA2 - Brak przystosowania rozdzielczości do szerokokątnych ekranów, - Brak języka polskiego, a gra została stworzona przez polaków, - Potrafi znużyć z powodu powtarzalnych z czasem zagadek, ale to normalne w tego rodzaju tytułach, Gra jest warta polecenia, jako odskocznia od wielkich tytułów AAA. Świetna rozrywka dla pracowników biurowych ;)
