Game isnt even in 1.0 and they are releasing features as DLC. Absolute joke, avoid. I got banned on their discord for this review. That sums it up pretty well. > we shall be continuing to add new features How much will they be?..
You can bypass the licensing troubles with a bit of modding from the community on Discord. However, the biggest negative is the fact that whenever you are going through the menus in-game, the processing speed and time it takes is by far too slow, especially when you have Football Manager 2020 with a larger database and game as whole that takes barely anytime at all to go through menus. This is especially apparent when trying to select a starting XV. If the game can solve this problem then it can be playable but until then, it's simply not playable and you'll be spending most of your time waiting for the next menus to appear.
This is a real pity. I usually wait for games like this to come out in full release and have a discount, but I bought this at full price to support the developer. I would love to one day see a quality rugby management sim, but sadly this is not that game. The interface has clearly had some serious work this year, and is now looking quite nice. But the game is almost prohibitively slow running, there's no licensing (although you can overcome that with mods) and some oddities throughout the management parts of the game. Those are problems that I could overlook, but the real problem is that the match engine is really, really, poor. Some examples: there seem to be a handful of moves run by the sides, linebreaks almost always lead to tries, after a scrum all the forwards just stand up in formation and wait for a breakdown to run to, breakdowns are slow (everyone lies on the ground and waits for some forwards to arrive), turnovers are unpredictable, rucks often result in people standing on the wrong side, some of the time my players run endlessly on the spot or run in the wrong direction, and amusingly I watched one of my players claim a "mark" in the opposition 22. All up its a real pity. This is a small, hardworking and responsive development team that I feel just hasnt realised that all the bling in the world cant make up for a broken match engine in a game like this.
Practically unplayable. Major bugs in match-engine, un-intuitive commands with no information toolbox, many clunky interfaces, frequent text failings. This game feels like an extremely early beta test that isn't close to general release. I am very disappointed with this games current state because the base concept is excellent, but it just doesn't get close to its potential.
game is pretty buggy and sometimes when taking kicks at goal the player wont take them then you end up conceding a scrum, i have also seen a bug or glitch where any team gets the ball and just runs backwards into their dead ball area and then concede a 5 metre scrum
RUTM 3 is a good step forward from previous incarnations. I am enjoying the game and also enjoying the community support that comes with it. Fellow players are able to offer advice and information and the game developers were only too happy to help me find a solution to an issue I was having with the game (which was related to my display settings). A little bit of editing is required to get the stats of players and teams up to speed which does take a little while, fortunately shared databases by the playing community does speed this process up significantly. The only thing I don't like about this game is the budgeting, as I don't think it is particularly clear and obvious and very easy to over spend.
Bought- Installed- Played for 5 minutes- Uninstalled- Requested a refund. What more do you need to know
This game has a lot of promise. It is decent now, but can grow a lot.
nice
What a fantastic game! If your a Rugby fan like myself then this is a must buy, i hardly review games but feel the need i must with this. After seeing so many football management games out it is shocking to see that Rugby is hardly even a second thought, wanting to play a management game of the only sport i follow come to light with RUTM3 is pure perfection, i for one do not like football nor do i follow such, but Rugby has been my sport for 27 years, knowing the teams and the players its finally become a reality to play a game that should of been made many years ago. The developers have perfected this game for Rugby fans alike with the help of Workshop, the names can be changed in a breeze and then match with the core mechanics of the game its brilliant. Excited to see some more support for this game and further development, for Rugby fans out there we need more developers of games like this to push the sport more for new titles. 9 out of 10 for me!
