Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.14/day in the week to Aug 13 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Short Review
Ropuka's Idle Island fails at being an enjoyable game, at least for me. The core loop is fine on paper: Ropuka cuts grass, Ropuka sleeps, Ropuka repeats, but the mechanics barely evolve from hour one to hour five hundred; coins take forever to earn, and the "collections" you're grinding toward barely add anything meaningful. I get the appeal of a slow, hands-off desktop companion, but I'd rather have nothing on my screen than this if this is the experience on offer. Just skip this and play a desktop idler that actually values your time. Not recommended.
Full Review
Ropuka's Idle Island has you plopping a little frog onto your desktop who cuts grass for currency, which you then spend upgrading him and decorating his island while he sits alongside your work or games. I've played my fair share of these desktop companion idlers at this point, so I went in with reasonable expectations for something low-stakes and relaxing. Instead, I came away feeling like I'd wasted a genuinely absurd amount of time on something with almost nothing behind it. The gameplay. The core loop is fine, technically. Ropuka cuts grass, Ropuka sleeps, Ropuka repeats. There just aren't many mechanics or upgrades here to speak of, and most of the customization is purely cosmetic. The practical side of the game doesn't meaningfully change from the first hour to 500+ hours in. I understand this is meant to be an idle desktop experience meant to be lived with over a long stretch of time, but it really feels like the developers artificially stretched out how long this game actually needs to be. Coins take way too long to earn, and leveling up feels like it takes forever without ever giving you the payoff of incrementally making Ropuka or the island feel meaningfully better. I never felt any of the joy a game like this should provide. It just feels empty and shallow. When the main thing you're working toward is becoming efficient enough at grass cutting to gamble at a lottery for stickers that fill out collections that don't really add anything, I think the game has failed at being an attractive experience, at least for me. The completion requirements. To 100% the game, you need to collect all stickers a total of five times, and there are a TON of stickers. Some may find this enjoyable, but for me, it's just dumb, artificial padding. Plain and simple. And unfortunately, it's a big part of why this game ate up over 500 hours of my life for a completion that offered basically nothing in return. The presentation. The pixel art is cute, and the music is chill, I'll give it that. There's no pressure to interact or engage with any complex mechanics, since there really aren't any complex mechanics to begin with. It's a very boring "game," if you can even call it that. That might be exactly what some people are looking for, but I absolutely did not like it. I can get cute pixel art, chill music, and a cozy atmosphere from plenty of other games that actually have real mechanics behind them and don't demand a tedious, padded 100% completion as this one does. The pacing. The scaling between idle time invested and reward gained is way too low for this to feel worthwhile. I understand the appeal of a game that forces you to slow down, but I hate being forced into that pace when there's nothing meaningful waiting on the other side of the wait. It felt like a chore having this sitting on my screen constantly, knowing barely anything was happening and that even once I had enough grass to upgrade something, there was nothing I could actually spend it on that brought me any real enjoyment. Overall, this game fails at being enjoyable, and while I eventually just learned to ignore it in the background while Ropuka idly cut grass and collected coins, I still found myself consistently annoyed that I paid money to have this stupid little frog and his stupid little island occupy a corner of my screen for 500+ hours just to 100% the game. Just skip this one and put your time and money toward a desktop idler that actually respects your time and gives you something worthwhile in return. Not recommended in the slightest. Not for me — cute idea, but incredibly shallow Ropuka looks adorable and the concept is cute, but after spending a ridiculous amount of time with it, I honestly can't recommend it. The biggest issue for me is how little there actually is to interact with. At its core, you're basically clicking a few things, watching numbers go up, buying upgrades, and waiting. That's essentially the entire gameplay loop. There isn't enough meaningful interaction to keep me engaged without the achievement/collection grind. And if you're on Linux, there's another problem: the game isn't officially supported there, and running it through Proton results in the infamous black background because the desktop-transparency system relies on Windows-specific functionality. The developer has acknowledged this themselves. I wanted to like this game much more than I actually did. The art style and idea are genuinely charming, but underneath the cute presentation there's just not enough gameplay for me. 3 clicks, wait, upgrade, repeat. Maybe that's enough for some people as a desktop companion, but after hundreds of hours chasing the collection, I can safely say I wanted considerably more interaction than this game provides.
I honestly didn't expect a simple idle game to keep me playing for over 400 hours, but Ropuka's Idle Island completely surprised me. The game has a relaxing and cozy atmosphere that makes it perfect for both active play sessions and leaving it running in the background while doing other things. Progress feels rewarding without being overly complicated, and there is always something to work toward, whether it's upgrading your island, optimizing production, or unlocking new content. What I appreciate most is that the game respects your time. You can check in for a few minutes, make some decisions, and still feel like you've made meaningful progress. At the same time, players who enjoy min-maxing and optimization will find plenty of depth to keep them engaged for the long term. The charming art style, peaceful soundtrack, and steady sense of progression make this one of the most enjoyable idle games I've played. The developers have clearly put a lot of care into creating a game that is both relaxing and satisfying. If you're a fan of idle, incremental, or cozy management games, Ropuka's Idle Island is absolutely worth picking up. After 402 hours, I can confidently say I've gotten far more value from this game than I ever expected. Highly recommended.
The perfect little scene to put on alongside working. It's not too distracting but just brings me comfort if I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed, I always have my little frog guy to watch for a bit while listening to the sounds of birds (which my cats also enjoy).
I hate this genre of game but this is hands down the worst one I've tried. The concept as a whole is asinine, how does having a distraction help you focus on anything, but the upgrades in this game are just *so* lackluster. 27 of the 31 achievements are expressly related to coins and the dumb gambling gacha mechanic. I would love to just be done with this chore but I'm over 100 hours in and I still don't have at least 1 of every sticker. Learn from my mistake, don't waste your money.
The negative reviews here are just missing the point. This is less a game than it is a productivity/focus tool - something you use to be able to take a break while doing other stuff. I haven't gone that far, but I got this to have something to use when my mind needs something to latch onto while doing stuff and it's a day/task where a pomodoro game isn't apropriate. The issue of grind or not super-robust content in something like this is weird, because you're not meant to be actively playing it. Granted, I haven't used it that much yet, but this does the job great. It's minimalistic, my mind can latch onto it and properly do other stuff knowing I can use this for a short break when needed. It's what it's for.
Quite possibly my favorite idle game around, it's just so cozy and everything about it is super aesthetically pleasing which to me is what every idle game should set out to achieve. Low price point also gives you exactly what you pay for, it's lovely!
I really enjoy my time with my little frog by my side during the day. It's really cute, it supports you. I like this game for what it is a desk companion with a lot of décoration to unlock while is cuting grass. I wish more content.
Really cute on your screen game. I do wish more things happened in the game, but it does exactly what it's promised to do. A little frog cuts grass on his little island while you unlock tools and more decor items. It's fun and takes a really long time to finish the game. Finished? No Steam Achievements? Not hard, but time consuming. Steam Deck? N/A for idle game. Rating? 8/10 (2 points for simplicity) My curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45865425-CozyAriGames/ Full videos on Youtube
