Reviews
It's serviceable. The mechanics are pretty much what you would expect. The music and art are nice. The idea of seeing your settlement advance is appealing. There are quite a few mini-games tied to the seasonal festivals. And that's pretty much it. The progression is terribly slow, which makes me feel like I'm just wasting time while playing. Most of the gameplay is spent going from one point to another repeatedly. You constantly have to explore the same two areas for randomly appearing resources. The overabundance of characters makes them quite one-note and uninteresting. Because of the many NPCs present, there aren't too many special interactions with them; developing relationships is really minimalistic story-wise and feels somehow unearned. Marrying seems to be pretty much pointless and is not recognized by other NPCs outside of the wedding event. The dancing mechanic is just there to waste your time, but it's necessary to advance relationships at an acceptable pace. The caves are very annoying to traverse, and the puzzles in them aren't really fun to go through. So, as I said: I don't believe it to be terrible, but it isn't good either. Since I left the game, I haven't really felt the wish to play it again, and the icon has just stayed on my desktop for me to ignore. I'll give it another play session to see if it can turn around what I think, and then I'll update the review if that's the case.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'm going to lead this review with "Roots of Pacha"'s biggest issue: Stamina. Stamina comes in a number of different forms - You're limited by the amount of actions you can do a day by a global stamina bar - You're limited to the amount of times you can try to tame animals by a seperate stamina bar attached to the taming apparatus. Even then animals need multiple efforts to tame and you're limited to one a day - Giving gifts is tied to a third stamina bar, limiting you to one a day and two per week - Catching bugs is tied to a fourth stamina bar - Playing some minigames are tied to a fifth and sixth stamina bar limiting you to one attempt per day In the end, the game becomes a pure grind fest of going to a location, doing one thing, going home to sleep, repeat ad nauseam. There's a few reasons this review is positive however The art in the game is beautiful, the mechanics match the setting with faux domestication of animals and food stuffs over a period of time, and the writing can be quite touching. My biggest problem with the story comes from the white washed view of pre-history that is presented. I don't see this as an issue, but I can't help being a little dissapointed that the story doesn't really challenge the player or do anything particularly interesting. Good game held back by some baffling design choices, best as a birthday present for somebody 12 or under
Very much in the cosy farming sim style, but with its own Stone Age spin. Really charming, fun to play, super relaxing. Well thought out with lots of cute details. Really enjoying it. Would definitely recommend it to Stardew Valley fans, though as I say, it has its own vibe, so that's refreshing.
The 2nd pixel game I've deeply fallen in love with (1st was Fields of Mistria). I'm so happy I found this game and I just love how it's not "just" a farm game but so much more than that. The entire stoneage theme is implemented with a lot of detail and love. There is no combat at all, which makes it ultimately chill. You can tame and breed animals and have pets (with modding even infinite pets). The mini games are actually cute and fun and most of the time different than "the usual" (e.g. fishing is completely different from what I've seen in similar games). I just wish there would be more player character customization options after the initial character creation. Anyways, I just love this game. It's definitely worth the money and unlike some other farm games I feel like my time spent is appreciated and rewarded reasonably.
for years i've been looking for a game that made me feel like a child again, playing something like virtual villagers, an old game i had on my childhood laptop but never played again. this game is beautiful. every aspect of it seems so well thought and researched. it has clearly been made with so much love and uniqueness. it stands outs so much from other games of the genre, imo. it has such good music, dialogue and characters.
The Development of the village depends on your contribution. But there is not time limit and you can play without rushing. If you miss something, you can just repeat it next year.
After playing a couple hours over the past two years on this charming little gem, I thought it was time to give my recommendation. This is a marvellous farming sim, no doubt about it. I absolutely adore how the clans-people are up to things of their own and improve the life for you as you progress, in your own pace. What's not to love about that? The experience of growing together as a community has not been this rewarding in any other game I've played. It's usually one person (you) carrying everybody else on your sore, broken shoulders, like a beast of burden, scurrying hurriedly across the world to do everything on your own. In this game, you feel like a part of a big family. The pixel art-style is amazing and probably my favorite of all of the pixelgames out there. The art-team has done an amazing job. So has the people making the music. This is one of the very few games where I haven't turned off the music. It's just great. The characters have more depth than in most games, and the comments stating otherwise surprises me, as one example was "My time at Portia" which has plenty of boring, generic lines for most of the characters. This many hours into this game, I have not gotten any generic lines from any of the characters in Roots of Pacha. They are their own, fully. I could honestly go on and on about what I love about this game. So to cut this short, I would recommend this game to anyone who seeks a charming new farming sim. 9.9/10
