About
About ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN
Take control of the protagonist Romeo Stargazer in this third person singleplayer action adventure, split into various chapters. His story is both unpredictable and littered with intense battles, interspersed with side missions to suit the player's pace.
A story that transcends space-time
This game's story starts with space-time itself being shattered by a certain incident. Romeo, too, on the brink of life and death finds himself revived by a new kind of super technology. Thus he is recruited for the FBI's Space-Time Police as a special agent, and wanders the cosmos in search of criminals who've taken advantage of the situation at hand in an attempt to bring justice back to the universe. At the same time, he looks for clues concerning his missing girlfriend Juliet, and quickly comes to find both her disappearance and the destruction of space may be more linked than he thought. Donning the mask called Deadgear, what awaits Romeo at the edges of space-time?
Fight blood with blood
Romeo switches between swords and guns to fight. Wipe out the waves of enemies that stand in your path to give birth to a new kind of bloody action, and take down the fearsome space-time criminals that await. Absorb the blood of your enemies to unleash Romeo's special attack: Bloody Summer, capable of turning any situation around. Romeo's various weapons can be strengthened and altered as the story moves forward as he takes on even stronger enemies.

This game gave me that feeling of discovering Rick and Morty. Remember when it first came out and everyone was like "you should watch this on drugs"! Then the Kronenburg moment hits and everyone's like "WAIT! Don't watch this on drugs"! Not the greatest combat game in the world and doesn't exactly break any new grounds, but the art style plays an homage to 70's/80's American sci-fi and horror told from the perspective of an Japanese game studio. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and if you've played the studios other titles like Let It Die or No More Heroes you can consider Romeo Is a Dead Man as a spiritual successor grounded in a more realistic setting despite the backdrop of space time being utterly obliterated.
SUDA51 and team deliver your next favourite 7/10! As a huge SUDA51 fan, and Grasshopper in general, this is such a huge treat to play. This will NOT be to everyone's tastes but if this is the sort of experience you like, you may just fall in love. Is it perfect? Absolutely not, but I am so glad it exists, that I got to play it and that Grasshopper are out here still making games as weird, wonderful and wacky as ever in a sea of same-same experiences. On performance, it can be rough. Expect some huge FPS drops even when nothing you can see would warrant it. My performance seemed better after the first patch but do adjust your expectations. The game can also be pretty unbalanced and straight up unfair so do not be tempted by the harder difficulty on a first play through and be smart with your gear upgrades/loadout.

Suda doesn’t really do "polished" or "mainstream," but his stuff is so unhinged it just burrows into your skull. You’re left wondering what kind of fever dream he had to have to actually build some of this.
this is the Perfected form of a Grasshopper Hack and Slash.
Sad to say that this game was just really boring- I was really looking forward to this game because of the visuals and the style. It starts off strong with the first mission but you quickly realize that the game is not going to expand off any of the systems it has available. It will teach you what upgrades you have and what new weapons you have. The game does not build off any of that. It feels like the game wanted to be Devil May Cry but just forgot to create a combo system. The fighting is just boiled down to - Light attack- Heavy attack or Light into heavy or heavy into light- and after you do enough of that you build your super heavy attack. The game has some great visuals but the novelty ends since the game does nothing with some of the unique style it tries to bring. Because the levels are very boring and all the same. Enter new area > Look for Juliet fight monsters > Find keys to get to level boss > go to sub area bc its used to unlock more of the level > collect all keys within sub area > Boss > Travel to new area and do the same exact thing just in a different stage, and the final level they just used the same map from a previous level so it just added new positions for the keys but it was the same map. The sub area section was cool at first- but they used it so much and it was also just generic sub space sub level thing where its just a bunch of untextured cubes in a floating arena. A great thing the game does is it creating small systems for your upgrades that only last for a few minuets and you wont ever see again but they were all unique and memorable. 3.5/10
The setting, the characters, the visuals and the soundtrack are all just as expected great. There are so many creative and absurd ideas that I was always excited to see whats coming next. Sadly, I think the gameplay is a bit weaker than in other Suda51 and Grasshopper games. It is satisfying to fight through enemies and watch the blood splatter, but aside from a few exceptions, it became a bit dull for me after a while. The older games did a better job in that regard. But overall, I still had a good time.
Romeo is a 10/10 man.
Sangue, amor e punk rock. Romeo is a dead man é punk. Romeo is a dead man é seu jogo. Nota 8.0.
Great game by Grasshopper, Fun gameplay, great style intriguing story, definitely don't feel it's a love it or hate it. if you don't like the story the gameplay will make up for it. if you don't like the gameplay well then.. watch a youtube video I guess.
Fun game but too confusing for me
