One of the greatest games of all times. Had it on disk as a kid so I have way more hours, have been playing over half my life and will probably play till I'm old. It's just so good. The experience overall, even with the bugs, is so immersive and encourages strategic thinking that the bugs are worth dealing with. Just adds to the 20-year old charm. If you're new, save often. Have multiple backups per campaign every so often, as sometimes files do corrupt.
7 years and half the game (Barbarian invasion) still wont launch. Steam of CA robbing people by only delivering half of what was paid for. Same issue has been here since at least 2019. Go to GOG if you want older games, better value.
10/10 The original GOAT of strategy games. For the glory of Rome!
Simple in design and mechanics, given its age, but no less bingeworthy.
Classic. Rome 2 sucks
love this battle / economy driven game, like playing the continues world conquering version.
