Information / Review English
Roll Five falls into the roguelike deck builder genre, which was developed by One Family Army and is still in the development phase, so errors may occur.
Story / Gameplay
Drop the dice. Have you always wanted to master the dice and like runes/relics? Then you should definitely read on, because then the game could be something for you. Roll Five is a heavy-duty and complex roguelike deck builder that will put your skills to the test. To master it requires a lot of depth and skill at the same time. The gameplay is simple, but complex at the same time. The game provides you with more than 20 starting decks and each comes with its advantages and disadvantages. Your job is to rotate the dice to deal damage, defeat enemies and unlock secret decks through original gameplay. Your reward is ancient relics/prisms, of which there are a lot and everyone wants to be in your collection.
Pro
+ Rogue deck builder with depth + appropriate graphic style + atmospheric background music + lots of prisms and relics + lots of decks, enemies and upgrades + good controls
Contra
- sometimes really too difficult
Conclusion
Roll Five offers you an endless dice game that demands all of your skills. Anyone who likes hardness will definitely like it.
Story / Gameplay
Please follow United Critics for quality reviews
Roll Five Review

I Imagined The MC Attacking The Monsters By Throwing The Dice
Ever wanted to roll dice like a pro and obliterate monsters with sheer luck and strategy? Roll Five delivers just that. This dice-based roguelike deckbuilder mixes medieval fantasy vibes with fast-paced, tactical gameplay. Imagine assembling overpowered dice figures, smashing monsters into oblivion, and freeing a goddess named Fortuna from the depths of Tartarus. Oh, and it’s all wrapped in some truly drool-worthy pixel art. Let’s dive in.
About This Game

Storyline
The premise? Simple but effective. Fortuna, the goddess of luck, is locked away, and it’s up to you to bust her out using your newfound dice-mastering skills. It’s a fantasy tale that doesn’t try to be overly deep but perfectly sets the stage for a roguelike where every roll literally counts. The story mostly takes a backseat to the gameplay, but it’s just enough to keep you motivated as you venture through perilous levels packed with monsters, loot, and escalating challenges.
Gameplay Mechanics
Here’s where Roll Five shines. It’s like someone said, “What if dice games could be as strategic as deck building card games?” You start with one of 22+ decks, each with its own quirks, and roll your dice to deal damage, activate abilities, and conquer enemies. The dice don’t just roll; they transform into figures, and you can upgrade these figures with prisms, runes, and relics. Every game run is seeded, which means no two playthroughs feel the same, but you can share seeds to challenge friends. With over 165 prisms, 70 relics, and a host of other goodies like potions and omega upgrades, the possibilities feel endless. It’s the kind of game where you start thinking, “Just one more run,” and suddenly, it’s 2 a.m. The difficulty curve can spike out of nowhere, though. Some runs feel like an unfair dice-flavored gauntlet, but hey, isn’t that the essence of roguelikes?
Visuals & Audio
The pixel art in Roll Five is a feast for the eyes. The medieval fantasy world pops with vibrant, detailed animations, and the VFX when your dice figures hit enemies? Chef’s kiss. It’s flashy in the best way, with glowing numbers, dramatic attacks, and satisfying splashes of color every time you land a combo. The SFX backs it up with meaty thuds, crackling fire, and sparkling magic sounds that make every attack feel impactful. The music, composed by Andrew Goodwin, is equally stellar. The atmospheric tunes blend perfectly with the dice-clashing chaos, keeping you immersed even during the toughest fights.
Pros

Addictive roguelike deck builder gameplay.
Tons of depth with 165+ prisms, 70+ relics, and more.
Unique, rewarding mechanics for dice rolling.
Gorgeous pixel art and slick VFX.
Atmospheric soundtrack that hits the right notes.
Insane replay value with endless challenges.

Cons

Difficulty can feel punishing, especially at higher levels.
Some minor issues (like localization errors) that need polish.
No achievements yet, which feels like a missed opportunity.

Conclusion
Roll Five is the perfect mix of luck, strategy, and chaos. It’s like someone took the dice mechanic from a board game, turned it into a digital masterpiece, and sprinkled in just enough challenge to keep you coming back for more. Sure, it has its frustrating moments, but the thrill of finding new prisms, crafting absurd combos, and unlocking secret decks makes it all worthwhile. If you’re into roguelikes or dice games, this one’s a no-brainer. And even if you’re not, Roll Five might just roll you into the genre. Just be ready to lose a lot of sleep over “one more run.” Rating: 9/10 My “One More Run” streak never ended
Pretty much Balatro but with Dices instead of Cards. It's a simple yet complex roguelike deckbuilder with lots of depth to the gameplay. There's already lots of content at the beginning of early access, after 2 hours of playing and maybe 10-12 runs, I haven't even discovered half of the prisms and relics currently available and only tried 2 of the starting decks available out of 20+. There's still a few missing small issues like the lack of Achievements or a couple localization issues for now, but nothing that can't get fixed with updates. Edit (18/11/2024): Took me ~15 hours to finally beat the Story mode in hardest difficulty and I've barely tried the 20 other starting decks so far & still got quite a lot of content to unlock too. Definitely a huge replay value.

It’s literally Balatro with dice! You make hands to defeat enemies! It’s a wonderful time and I’m surprised that this game only has nine reviews not including mine that I’m about to post. Please give this game a try. I will say there are some issues with the controller support it kind of bugged out Sometimes for me but other than that, this is an excellent title
A well put together game. If you want a balatro-like with dice, this is a great take on that. There is plenty of variety and combo making. It is essentially impossible until you get the hang of it, and after you get the hang of it I think it is still challenging. I found most of the mechanics explained adequately, there were only a few times I went running to the forums to figure out what something meant - and after I was told I usually realized I had enough information to figure it out.
Quite enjoyable timewaster that have a similar vibe to Balatro
It's a clone of Balatro, but an EXCELLENT clone, with dice. In its early access state you can already see the high quality of all aspects of this title, which will probably become a no-brainer for any Balatro fan.
Très bon jeu que je recommande. Cependant, il y a des bugs et des crashs, qui, j'espère avec le temps seront corrigés. Very good game that I recommend. However, there are some bugs and crashes, which I hope will be corrected over time.
What if Baltro and Slay the Spire had a child? That child could be Roll Five. First, the Baltro like things. You make poker hands, but out of dice instead of cards. You acquire prisms, which act like jokers in Baltro. There are numerous sets of dice, think decks in Baltro. Your dice earn you power, like chips in Baltro. You also have multipliers, just like in Baltro. Each poker hand has a level that earns a base power and multiplier, once again, like Baltro. Your total power times multiplier gives you the damage you do to the current enemy. This damage earns experience points that the poker hand gets. Enough experience earned then levels the poker hand up, giving it a higher base power and multiplier like Baltro. You also have a variety of consumables that give you various modifiers, even permanently adding bonuses to dice (like Baltro). You have a limited number of attacks each encounter to kill the current enemy, like hands in Baltro. Now the Slay the Spire like things. You acquire artifacts that give you various buffs/bonuses, like Spire. You move along a map with encounters that are very Spire like in appearance and types (Enemy, Elite, Merchant, Rest, and Boss). You must slay the current enemy to progress to the next encounter, like Spire. There are numerous unlocks to give you the progression like experience of both games. The UI is very simple and a blend of Baltro and Spire. So, if you like/love Baltro, you'll probably like/love Roll Five. If you like/love Slay the Spire, you'll like/love the Spire like elements you'll find in Roll Five. It's a great poker style battler that has enough going on to keep it fresh and interesting for quite a while.
