Rogue Legacy 2 is what you'd get if you mashed Rogue Legacy and a sequel together. Every time you die, your children will succeed you, and each child is unique. Your daughter might be a Colourblind Archer, and your son could be a Pacifistic Chef. Either way, one of them is getting conscripted.

Reviews
I played this game a few years ago, and I really really enjoyed it. Forgot to share my 'review' until now!

extremely well crafted. good meta progression, excellent boss design, varied enemy design and colorfully different biomes. the end game repeats drags on but they give you an option to shortcut if you choose.
clunky controls
Like Dead Cells, but much worse. Three things and it might be personal taste or just bad design. I'll let you decide. 1. The character is ginormous and looks clumsy when they move and feels clumsy when they play. 2. Enemies shoot you from offscreen. A lot. Which that's never good game design imo. 3. This is much more of a parkour game than something like Dead Cells. It has similar opponents and similar controls and similar movement, but it comes at you with the platforming as hard as it comes at you with the opponents and when you combine this with issue number 1 it just doesn't work well. I wouldn't recommend it at any price because there are other options which are much better.
Fun platformer with crazy variety.
This is Cellar Door's masterpiece. It takes everything that made Rogue Legacy fun and improves upon it in huge ways. The basic loop is the same, but there is so, so much variety here. I have never encountered another game that has so many classes to choose from, makes them all fun to play, and incentivizes the player to try them all out rather than specializing. There are so many upgrades that after taking ~30 hours to "beat" the game I feel like I barely scratched the surface. The whole thing has an incredible degree of polish, from the cartoony art style, to the animations, to the controls, all the way down to the sound effects. It doesn't hit the same narrative heights that Hades was able to, but that is faint criticism. This is an absolute standout of the genre and a must-play.
The game is to grindy. I love that the play session is just 10-15 minuts. but then you don't se much progression. and starting from scratch with all knowledges doesn't improve much. Inflation on the purchases looks like just a patch or artificial obstacle, to prevent fast progression. This game doesn't deserve 60 or 100 hours to complete.
