Simply put, this game is really fun. Not that difficult on earlier ranks, especially for seasoned players, but just smashing everything and having it bounce around hitting enemies is so much fun. Surprisingly a good amount to do as well. Value far exceeds the price and definitely recommend.
It's worth $15. It has charm, a great sound track, and lots of fun mechanics. The pacing is... not great. You have to play each act in full, despite how easy it is, and then start from the very beginning. You'll be spending a few hours with combat introduction, and you will have no way to play harder content for a while. Even something as simple as point multipliers (which is relevant for unlocking) is hard capped to start, meaning even the core mechanics of the game are limited in really surprising ways for an indie game. Despite holding itself back, once you get past the slog of the early game, there's a game worth playing here.
Game is a fun little time. If you're used to roguelites or honestly not and willing to play slow this game won't take that long to beat. The game mechanics are distinct enough to make it interesting to play even if the upgrades are pretty generic. On the upgrades some of them originate from the attack point and some from your character causing some to just be useless. Weapon atk is a stat, but using your basic outside of early game is worthless. All your upgrades are tied to everything but your basic specifically heavy/ability thornball(magic) bounce(the coolest and later most passive part of the combat system) or supers which I rarely used because they only did what your other abilities could do at the cost of a hard to accumulate resource and really didn't even do it better. Most of the artifacts are pretty boring, and there is a ton of revenge artifacts which imo just are there to clog up the pool. I don't want to build around getting hit why make so many of something with a downside and a resource downside attached (magerot a resource that doesn't effect you until you gather lots of artifacts) There is also a huge subset of artifacts that are followers that have effects originate from the follower. Who moves around randomly basically providing zero value.Overall the game is easy if you abuse the high range options in the game. And if you try to use the low range options they don't provide more damage they just make you have to interact with the hazards of the game more, and by interact I mean destroy before moving forward because almost everything is destructible in this game hazard wise. Spoilers ahead. The last boss is kinda just a bullet hell and not interesting because of it. The strongest tool you have is range because fighting up close is just going to get you hit. It's also the only weapon damage check in the game which is super obnoxious just because as I stated weapon damage does nothing for all the upgrades in the game. Everything fun about the game is not because of weapon damage and putting a weapon damage check finally at the final boss just seems petty. Overall fun time, short, not too hard.
I've just gotten started really, only about 3 hours in, but I must say I'm really enjoying this game! After a few rounds my first night, the next day I was looking forward to playing again - it's hooked me in a way that doesn't always happen when I try new stuff. If you enjoy roguelites I think you'll like this. Even if you're not experienced with that type of game, though, the story is interesting enough that I want to know more. I also really like the cast of characters (including the hired monsters!) Overall, a solid 9/10, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!
This game is amazing and SUPER ADDICTING! The dialog is FULL of character and I've bursted out laughing so many times! The art is amazing and WHAT? VOICE ACTING? HELLO? FOR A $15.00 game?? VERY worth the price! Everyone needs to play this! Especially if you're an 80's or 90's kid! You won't regret the purchase! HONESTLY!
Hella fun! It's like I turn the whole screen into a pinball machine of tree trunks and rocks. Best feeling ever :D
Rogue Labyrinth is really fun, and relatively fair in terms of difficulty. Experimenting with all the upgrades and weapons, is very enjoyable. I've really liked my time with the game, the runs aren't too long and they aren't too short either, they feel just about the right amount of length. My only complaint is that it can be a little easy to lose track of what's happening on screen, especially with your attacks and the enemy attacks flying around, this causes the very last room of the game to be extremely difficult. Please pick it up if you're at all interested, it's a good time overall.
im a good 10+ hours into this game and i can only see myself putting more hours into it! i think this is a solid first game for Tea Witch Games and i cant wait to see more from these developers
This is a fun game! The art style is super cute, the combat is fun and engaging. Played great on my Steamdeck. <3 Gooey PS soundtrack is a banger!
