Great example, how to create games corectly. The level design is unique for each level, you won't be repeating the same mechanics all the time. It's a real diamond for ZX-Spectrum / Retro / Minimalism lovers.
Damn! This game is fenomenal! Great graphics, gameplay and sound! Real diamond! Get it!
Bit conflicted about this game. Sometimes it's just an annoying crowd control shooter game (with added difficulty as you run around 'laps' in certain levels that require that) and sometimes it's a clever blast from the past action game and a well designed one too. Love the MSX-era look. The 16-bit graphics option that was added in the latest patch is very nice looking too. Unlockable arcade games puts your old arcade skills to test. Loderunner anyone? Check actual gameplay videos to get a better picture of what this game is and skip the stuff on the store page. Store page gives a false impression there are adventure elements in the game. In reality they are non-existent.
LOVE THIS ALL!
Beat the entire game in 3 hours. Reminds me of a lot of older retro games including some brutal boss fights and tricky puzzles. Overall, very enjoyable to play!
This is a faithful - perhaps too faithful - modern take on those 8-bit games which completely crushed you as a child gamer. Think a bit of Hewson and a bit of Ultimate, with chip tunes from the likes of Hubbard and Jones. It is lovingly nostalgic yet fully modernised to your 2020's rig. It has some great touches like a choice between whether you want to play the computer (ZX Spectrum) or console (I dunno, probably NES or Famicon) version with appropriate loading screens and graphics and sound styles (the Spectrum version even has colour clash, which is a great touch) It is super-playable and fun, at least at the beginning... Millennials and after will never know how punishing games were back then! By level 8 you'll be fuming that you had 7 lives but then a thing you haven't encountered before can insta-kill you and Game Over! At least, in a nod to modern gaming, you can restart at the level you were on, not all the way back to the start :) Lovingly crafted and true to its target (and also, weirdly, VERY British in tone!) this is definitely fun to play and a modern recreation of where the games you play now came from.
Brilliant. The only thing missing is a R: Tape Loading Error at the end, or the color clash. Stupidly addictive.
Bought this for the Spectrum look and was not disappointed. Love the loading screen sounds.
Excellent, under the radar, mix of puzzle game and twin-stick shooter with self-consciously, likeable retro feel. A Victorian steampunk scenario, lots of features and a choice of ZX Spectrum or NES-style "8-bit" graphics make things that bit even better.
