A one session game. Very short, very fun 3 hours. It really feels good to %100 a game.
Fun little tower defense/shooting sorta game. Cheap and cheerful. I think I took longer than most to complete, but I had fun.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A pretty short but fun tower defense game that has the twist of you protecting something on the track rather than trying to kill it. As you play you will find what kinda towers you like but the laser does wonders to a crowd. Achievements aren't too bad either so that was a nice bonus. Not much else to say other than it was nice for bite sized fun and absolutely worth the $3 asking price.
For a price of a cup of coffe you get solid 3 hours of bullet hell & tower defense fun. Don't expect more it's a very short game.

Road Defense: Outsiders is a compact yet thoughtfully designed indie title developed and published by Minicactus Games that blends tower defense fundamentals with roguelike progression and real-time action. Rather than following the traditional formula of defending a static base, the game centers its identity around protecting a moving convoy as it travels through hostile territory. This simple twist gives the experience a constant sense of motion and urgency, setting it apart from more conventional defense games and framing every encounter as a race against escalating threats. At its core, the gameplay revolves around defending vehicles as they advance along a road besieged by waves of enemies. From an isometric perspective, players place defensive towers along the route while also directly engaging foes using their own weapons. This hybrid approach ensures that the player is always actively involved, juggling strategic placement decisions with moment-to-moment combat. Towers provide essential crowd control and sustained damage, but personal movement, positioning, and shooting are just as important, especially when enemy waves begin to overwhelm poorly planned defenses. Progression within each run follows a roguelike structure, with defeated enemies dropping experience that fuels temporary upgrades. Leveling up mid-run allows players to select perks that boost damage, survivability, firing speed, or utility, subtly reshaping how each attempt unfolds. These choices rarely feel trivial, as the right combination of upgrades can mean the difference between a short-lived run and a hard-fought survival streak. The escalating difficulty ensures that players are constantly adapting, responding to new enemy compositions and adjusting their tactics on the fly. Beyond individual runs, Road Defense: Outsiders features a persistent progression system that rewards perseverance. Enemies defeated during failed attempts still contribute toward permanent upgrades that enhance core stats and capabilities. This meta-progression loop gives the game a strong sense of forward momentum, ensuring that even early defeats feel productive. Over time, players gain access to stronger defenses, more resilient vehicles, and improved combat effectiveness, gradually pushing deeper into the game’s challenge curve. Visually, the game embraces a clean, minimalist aesthetic that prioritizes clarity over detail. Characters, enemies, and towers are easily readable, even when the screen fills with action. While the art style may appear simplistic at first glance, it serves the gameplay well, ensuring that critical information is never obscured during intense moments. Effects are restrained but effective, and the overall presentation reinforces the arcade-like nature of the experience rather than attempting cinematic spectacle. Difficulty progression is one of the game’s defining traits. Early runs can feel punishing, especially before permanent upgrades begin to accumulate, but this challenge is intentional and integral to the roguelike loop. As new enemy types are introduced—ranged attackers, fast-moving threats, and tougher elites—the importance of smart tower placement and upgrade synergy becomes increasingly apparent. While the variety of maps and builds is somewhat limited, the escalating pressure keeps repeated runs engaging, encouraging optimization rather than exploration. The game’s scope is deliberately modest, and this is both a strength and a limitation. There are only a handful of environments, and after extended play, patterns begin to repeat. However, the focused design keeps sessions tight and replayable, making it easy to jump in for a quick run or push for incremental improvement. Players who enjoy chasing efficiency, refining strategies, and maximizing progression will find plenty of satisfaction despite the limited content breadth. Ultimately, Road Defense: Outsiders succeeds by delivering a tightly constructed blend of tower defense and action-oriented roguelike design. It doesn’t attempt to overwhelm with complexity or massive content, instead offering a polished core loop built around constant movement, tactical decision-making, and rewarding progression. For players who enjoy compact, replay-driven experiences where improvement comes through repetition and mastery, it offers a compelling road-bound challenge that proves small-scale design can still deliver big engagement. Rating: 7/10
Astro Prospector meets Kill the Crows. Kinda. Recommend on a deep sale. Music is bad. Muted. The game feels good, but fails to increase the "fun" factor. Astro Prospector is a great example of a similar game that becomes more fun the longer you play. The game devolved into "stay on level 0 and farm money to max out the upgrades" but quickly became a grind.
@TrilhaNoPlay
