About
Few in the world attain to the wordless teaching
and the advantage arising of non-action. -Laozi
RŌA is a short cryptic single-player first-person play on awareness and fugacity.
Somewhere between life and dream, we are an observer of our own experience... Are you playing them? Are they playing you? What does your happiness feel like. What was your first memory. Who has changed you. Restless seekers, bustling, endeavoring, zealously and always busy. Their origin is the same, but their paths are not.
Gameplay
While in many games the beings are eliminated by clicks, in RŌA you put them at rest or awake them again. Choose their pose from a range of options. There are two possible endings. However, the journey is the destination here, a challenge not everyone is ready for. Chasing meaning in the void. Are you open to the uncommon, in wonder watching the stars and chaos, maybe going to museums sometimes? Then the game might be notable for you.
Controls
Classic Mouse&Keyboard or any gamepad to walk and look around. The Screen stays HUD-free. One button is referring to Rest or Awake creatures, another is to clear the screen by Scanning for them.
RŌAro'-an. See also REST (contemporary): ancient tongue for TRANQUILITY, REPOSE: State of inner calm. Also: stillness, silence, peace.

I'm a huge fan of Aentity but so far I havn't found the drive to "zen me" in RŌA. I think it's my personal taste when it comes to the fact that this feels more "pixely" combined with the colour choises here wich just makes me feel ill. However it's still a low price game so the "risk" is worth it to see wether you like it more then I do. I still see the beauty behind this so it's hard to put the dislike-stamp on i. Maybe this was better off added to Aentity then a seperate buy (even with the option to recieve it for free in the bundle). I will push myself a little bit more to see if it opens up to me

it's kinda like roblox
For 3€ this is way overpriced, but I got it in sale and although I didn't "get" the game, nor any achievements or understanding of where an ending should be or what kind of interaction my clicks actually do have on the world, I still could kinda enjoy it for the brilliant "Beksinski in Glitch hell"-aesthetics and the general sense of outerspacy, mysterious dread I got from it alone. Too cryptic for my taste, not quite a game, but it does belong in a museum and may be worth checking out.

You can walk around a Windows Media Player visualization where there are models of a bunch of humanoids and one very large humanoid. You can 'blink' and 'stare' to reset visual effects and increase the amplitude of a colour separation smearing effect respectively. Kinda neat, but if you're even mildly interested in this you'll be wanting to buy AENTITY to receive RŌA for free instead of purchasing it separately. This is a tech demo for AENTITY.

Short game, but it has interesting visuals and is easy to 100%.
