REALLY fun, I do actually recommend trying out the casual mode with items and free for all for a couple matches, I know most people getting into this game are competitive players but give it a try sometime, it's very well done!!!
After backing this game years ago and hyping up it's release, playing in the beta, I barely play it now. It's just not fun. Every character feels like a watered down version of either their Rivals 1 version or some combination of characters from Smash or P+. I keep coming back whenever a new character drops, trying them for about an hour or so, and expecting to suddenly have fun with this game when casual mode is dead most of the time and ranked, well, it's hard to learn and stay motivated in a fighting game when you keep getting matched with much higher ranked players. You can call it a skill issue but having a healthy amount of casual and single-player content is necessary to help players ease into games like this, and to that degree Rivals 2 is pretty bad. They just added workshop and items and casual stages but I feel like I rarely hear anybody talk about them meanwhile I still see mods getting added to Rivals 1 due to the accessibility to develop mods there. As a Kirby main in P+ I was so hyped for Gouie and hoped that he'd at least be a new main for me, but he's slower than P+ Kirby with somehow less going on despite the technically broader moveset. I'm sure people at the top level think otherwise about game balance but it feels like a good portion of the roster is neglected, meanwhile certain characters just get to be strong and kill early. Like yes as a Melee player I know that sound hypocritical but the main thing wrong with many of Melee's low tiers isn't necessarily kill power, it's usually weak recoveries and or weird jank holding them back, whereas here, it feels like the reason half the roster just can't kill is simply because the devs don't like them. tldr Would you rather spend your money on this game, wait 5+ minutes for the chance to find a casual match or throw yourself in the ranked meatgrinder to get practice with your character of choice, assuming the dev team decided that your character should be good... Or would you rather go download Slippi, get into an unranked match in less than 15 seconds, and play a much faster, fluid, fun, and ultimately, living game with a strong local community? Hell even if you hate Melee you can at least wait and pray for Brawlback to be ready soon so we can finally play P+ again.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 6.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really good game! Responsive controls and amazing movement. The only thing is that the game suffers from having a small playerbase. Sometimes you get matched with player that are way above you or way below you.
my gay ass friend won lol

so good it hurts. prob a new fav fs
Is swag!
