GTA2 style shooter/racing game. City is atmospheric, the lighting and music really set the mood. Game is fairly linear, Mafia 1 style, but there are challenges on the map that you can find/do. Story is told through Max Payne 1,2 style comic strips, you follow the story of garbage man who finds suitcase full of money and get's into bloody conflict with it's owners. Combat is quite punishing but interesting, both you and enemies can't take more than 2 hits so it's pretty kill or be killed explosive encounters. But the checkpoints aren't far so it does not get boring. Progression wise it has cool old GTA vibe, shooting/racing/chase someone/escape someone. Pacing is quite balanced. I have played with latest hotfix to date (22, Oct) and have not run into any crashes or bugs. I'd say it's a very good value for the money.
I know the publisher is known for terrible, awful products, but I figured this could be worth the dollar it cost me. I was wrong. Absolutely atrocious. "Inspired" by classic top-down GTA and Hotline Miami but without any of the elements that make those games good. Gameplay is terrible, writing and presentation is awful, confuses "difficulty" for "challenge," has no production value, and overall feels like the kind of game you'd play in a web browser on a Flash games site. Even for 99 cents, I requested a refund. If you enjoyed classic GTA, load up 1, 2, or the Londons and relive those glory days. If you like Hotline Miami, replay either (or both) of them. If you're just looking for a fun top-down action game, look elsewhere. Might I recommend Splatter: Blood Red Edition, which is sort of like Max Payne x Crimsonland, the good, original Crimsonland, not the ham-fisted remake.

I had high hopes for Riskers. I wished for the impossible, and I knew there wouldn't be much chance that my expectations would be filled. I had hoped for an update to the original masterpiece, but I would have settled for less. Just kept thinking, "oh, this is really bad..." Riskers took an ambitious target, and I applaud their ambition. Unfortunately, this is one for the archive, when they get famous with their own ideas, they can look back at this one and laugh. Sadly, those who pay ten dollars for this game are not laughing, today. Riskers misses what made the original so terrific (pay phones, harikrishas, money, police stars, interesting sidequests, and an open world), while making sure all the painfully slow parts stayed here (terrible driving speeds, instakills, map problems), and added parts that didn't fit any where else (HLM sans weapons, street racing with a sad a.i., graphical glitches with UI, no video resolution settings, and dreadful speech bubbles that cannot be manually advanced). Fans of the original are going to be disappointed, and people who have never played the original will have the biggest WTF moment of their lives. Only 10% of owners got the achievement for getting a car to the highest speed. Riskers redeems itself by having a great soundtrack, with the music files in the local directories. Dozens of killer tracks for you to hear. Comic art is nice too, but a bit out of place. Tried my best to play on an ubuntu desktop. Game requires a fast desktop, and it uses the Unity game engine. It takes 500MBs of diskspace, and it provides the music as local OGG files.
SteamOS /Linux
Análise.
The gameplay is frustrating yet entertaining, the catchy music etc, the storyline is ok, I recommend this game, but I would suggest getting it during a discount/offer and after they fixed the bugs. There're a couple of bugs I wish they'll iron out, a side mission's target and the ally AI's intelligence. This game is not intended for people who has low patience.
A fun game in the vein of classic GTA 1 (and 2). Has a somewhat short campaign and some sidequests, but can probably be finished in a few hours. The campaign could be a bit longer and the game would probably benefit from some kind of a weapons store because most of the missions seem to reset your weapons/slash ammo for whatever reason.
A promising mix of classic GTA and Hotline Miami. This game immediately caught my attention because it reminded me of classic GTA 1/2 combined with the fast-paced top-down action of Hotline Miami. The concept is great. The missions encourage planning instead of simply rushing in, the story was interesting, and I also liked the interactive HUD. However, when I played it at launch, the game still had plenty of bugs and didn't feel fully polished. It felt more like an Early Access game than a finished release. I actually refunded it at the time because I wanted to wait until it received more improvements. Despite that, I still think the game had a lot of potential. This review reflects my experience at launch, so it may have improved since then.
