my computer keyboard not working, does it require game controller ?

Fun game- arcadey and slippy. Worth it.
super cool !!!!!!
Controls on water are fine, but when you are on the road it feels like you are on the water again. I hate racing games that are all visuals and no controls. Drifting DOES NOT work like this. Just too hard of a game to be enjoyable.
Rise: Race The Future is a futuristic arcade racing game developed and published by VD-dev that embraces speed, drifting, and accessible gameplay over realism. Inspired by the fast-paced spirit of classic arcade racers, the game places players behind the wheel of advanced vehicles capable of traversing a variety of surfaces with remarkable agility. Instead of focusing on realistic physics and simulation-style handling, it delivers an experience built around momentum, stylish driving, and the thrill of mastering challenging tracks. The game's futuristic setting plays a meaningful role in its design. Advanced wheel technology allows vehicles to maintain control across roads, dirt, and even stretches of water, creating race courses that feel more dynamic than those found in many traditional racing games. This concept gives the developers freedom to create unusual track layouts filled with sweeping turns, elevation changes, jumps, and environmental variations. As a result, races rarely feel repetitive, and players are constantly encouraged to adapt their driving style to changing conditions. At the heart of the experience is a drifting system that rewards both aggression and precision. Vehicles slide smoothly through corners while retaining enough responsiveness to keep players in control. The handling strikes a comfortable middle ground between pure arcade chaos and technical racing depth. Beginners can quickly enjoy dramatic drifts and high-speed action, while experienced players can spend considerable time refining racing lines, maintaining momentum, and shaving seconds off lap times. This balance helps the game remain approachable without sacrificing long-term mastery. The track design is one of the title's strongest features. Each environment offers a distinctive visual identity and a unique set of challenges. Some tracks emphasize outright speed with long straights and sweeping curves, while others demand careful control through tighter and more technical sections. The layouts are generally wide enough to encourage experimentation, allowing players to discover alternative approaches to corners and maximize the effectiveness of their drifting techniques. This freedom contributes significantly to the game's replay value. A substantial portion of the content comes from the career structure, which includes numerous challenge events and championship competitions. These races provide a steady sense of progression as players unlock vehicles, improve their skills, and tackle increasingly demanding objectives. The challenge mode is particularly effective because it introduces different goals beyond simply finishing in first place, encouraging players to fully engage with the mechanics rather than relying solely on speed. Vehicle variety is another welcome aspect of the game. While the roster is not enormous compared to major racing franchises, each machine feels distinct enough to justify experimentation. Different cars offer unique handling characteristics, forcing players to adjust their approach depending on the vehicle they choose. Learning how each car behaves becomes an enjoyable part of the progression system and adds additional depth to the racing experience. The boost mechanics provide another layer of strategy. Success is not determined solely by steering accuracy; players must also understand when to deploy boosts for maximum effectiveness. Proper boost management can create significant advantages during races, particularly when combined with well-executed drifts. This system rewards practice and skill, giving experienced players meaningful opportunities to outperform less disciplined opponents. Visually, Rise: Race The Future presents an attractive interpretation of near-future motorsport. The vehicle designs are sleek and distinctive, while the environments are colorful and varied. Weather conditions, lighting changes, and different track themes help maintain visual interest throughout the campaign. Although the game lacks the technical polish of higher-budget racing titles, it compensates with a vibrant style that suits its arcade-focused identity. The game's greatest strength may be its commitment to fun above all else. Every aspect of the design encourages players to drive aggressively, take risks, and enjoy the sensation of speed. Races move quickly, menus remain straightforward, and progression never feels unnecessarily complicated. This focus on immediate enjoyment gives the game a refreshing quality in a genre increasingly dominated by sprawling open worlds and simulation-heavy mechanics. There are, however, some limitations. Players seeking extensive customization options, large online communities, or a massive selection of vehicles may find the content somewhat limited. Certain handling characteristics can occasionally feel unforgiving, especially during high-speed sections where mistakes are heavily punished. Additionally, while the track selection is solid, dedicated racing fans may eventually wish for greater environmental variety and a larger overall content pool. Even so, Rise: Race The Future succeeds in delivering exactly what it sets out to achieve. It captures the excitement of classic arcade racing while introducing enough modern ideas to establish its own identity. The combination of satisfying drifting, imaginative track design, engaging progression, and futuristic style creates a racing experience that remains entertaining from start to finish. For players who enjoy fast-paced racers that prioritize excitement over realism, Rise: Race The Future offers plenty to appreciate. Its accessible controls make it easy to learn, while its deeper mechanics provide enough challenge to keep skilled drivers invested. Though it may not reach the heights of the genre's biggest names, it stands as a well-crafted and enjoyable arcade racer that deserves recognition from fans of high-speed competition. Rating: 7/10

You can turn the car more effectively if you do not hold left/right, but instead press left/right several times in a row.
