A classic arcade that is both enjoyable and stress-free. You take on the role of a fox who has set out to demolish every barrel, murder every living thing, consume every apple, and steal every coin. I think. I'm not clear what motivates our hero because there isn't a story here. It doesn't matter, though, because as soon as I chose a stage and grabbed the controller, I understood what had to be done. Our hero can jump and swing its sword. Despite having a shield, it serves just as a decorative item and cannot prevent damage. The sword is rather fussy about what it can strike. Objects like boxes or pots can’t be smashed, but enemies and wooden barrels are gone after a single strike. You'll go over 32 colorful stages spread across four chapters. Each stage is linear and constructed of islands that are connected by bridges or moving platforms. Platforming challenges will put your talents to the test, while monsters like slimes and flytraps that shoot fireballs try to keep you from reaching the finish line. From the first to the last stage, enemies are the same. Only completionists will care about apples and barrels. Everything has a tracker so you can see exactly how many are in a stage. If you complete both objectives, two lovely gems will be waiting for you at the end. The game has a low level of difficulty. Death is not harsh, even if you can lose all three of your health cells quickly if you're not careful or fall over the edge. You keep all of the items you've acquired and barrels you've destroyed when you respawn at the checkpoint. The only thing that is revived along with you are the enemies. Little puzzles and easy boss fights are a pleasant surprise. Also, since most stages won't lock you out of sections, nothing can be missed. You can explore for as long as you want. You will have to start over if you finish the stage without collecting everything, though. The game runs great and doesn't have any bugs. There's only one visual "glitch"; trees aren't solid so you can walk right through them. Achievements are easy. I got most of them before reaching chapter 2, and the remaining ones are rewarded for finishing all the chapters.
Sencillo y agradable!
Fun little platformer with a few minor puzzle elements. Collect things, slash enemies, it never gets too hard. About a 3 and a half hour journey. Simple. Straight-forward. Recommended.
Rise of fox hero eğlanceli bir 3D platform yapımı. 2,3 saat kafa yormadan eğleneceğiniz bir oyun,bu türün sevdalısıysanız deneminizi tavsiye ediyorum.
The only thing I'd change... I wish the blood could be turned off. Actually pretty decent; much better than I expected. Definitely worth the sale of $2. I'd pay $10 for this game. Very strong graphics -- actually a 4K game. TPS layout (RS controls camera).
This is a fun and charming little platformer. Pretty easy overall but I did enjoy it and a quick play too. Will be looking out for the next game.
Juegazo 😎
Really cool game, great for kids of all ages. Great price also.
Rise of Fox Hero is a colorful indie platforming adventure created by developer Josep Monzonis Hernandez and published by 2Awesome Studio. Designed as a lighthearted action-platformer inspired by classic adventure games, the title focuses on exploration, simple combat mechanics, and environmental puzzles. The game embraces a vibrant fantasy aesthetic and approachable gameplay systems, aiming to recreate the charm of traditional platforming adventures while remaining accessible to modern players. Rather than overwhelming players with complicated mechanics, it delivers a straightforward yet engaging experience built around movement, discovery, and gradual progression through imaginative environments. The premise of the game centers on a brave fox protagonist who embarks on a journey across a magical world filled with unusual creatures and mysterious landscapes. Although the story is intentionally simple, it provides a clear sense of purpose for the adventure. The fox hero travels through multiple regions while facing various threats that disrupt the peace of the world. Instead of relying heavily on cinematic storytelling or dialogue-driven narrative sequences, the game allows the adventure to unfold primarily through the player’s exploration of its environments. This approach keeps the focus on gameplay while still giving players a sense of participating in a heroic quest. Gameplay revolves around classic platforming mechanics such as running, jumping, climbing, and navigating environmental hazards. Players guide the fox hero through a variety of levels filled with gaps, moving platforms, traps, and puzzles that require careful timing and observation. Each stage introduces new obstacles that gradually increase in complexity as the game progresses. While the core mechanics remain easy to understand, mastering the character’s movement becomes important when navigating more demanding platforming sequences or attempting to reach hidden areas scattered throughout the levels. Combat adds another layer of activity to the platforming experience. The fox hero is equipped with a sword and shield, allowing players to engage enemies encountered during exploration. Battles are simple but satisfying, relying on timing attacks and occasionally defending against incoming strikes. Enemy encounters are placed throughout the levels to create moments of action between platforming challenges, helping maintain a dynamic pace. Although the combat system does not aim to be highly complex, it effectively complements the exploration and traversal mechanics that form the foundation of the gameplay. One of the more distinctive features of Rise of Fox Hero is its camera system, which allows players to freely rotate the viewpoint in order to examine the environment from different angles. This mechanic encourages players to actively observe their surroundings rather than simply moving forward along a fixed path. Certain puzzles and collectibles become easier to locate when the camera is adjusted to reveal hidden pathways or objects concealed behind environmental structures. This design choice adds an element of discovery, rewarding players who take the time to explore every corner of the world. The game’s adventure is divided into several chapters that contain multiple levels, each introducing new environments and gameplay scenarios. As players progress through these chapters, they encounter increasingly difficult platforming segments as well as stronger enemies. At the end of certain sections, players face boss battles that test the skills developed throughout earlier stages. These encounters often involve learning attack patterns and finding the right moment to strike, providing a satisfying conclusion to each major portion of the adventure. Collectibles are scattered throughout the game’s environments, offering additional incentives for exploration. Some items are placed in obvious locations along the main path, while others are hidden in areas that require clever use of the camera or precise platforming to reach. Searching for these collectibles encourages players to revisit levels and experiment with different approaches to navigation. For completionists, uncovering every hidden item becomes a rewarding challenge that extends the life of the game beyond the main progression. Visually, Rise of Fox Hero adopts a stylized art direction characterized by bright colors and whimsical environments. The world is filled with lively landscapes that emphasize fantasy elements rather than realism. Forests, magical ruins, and other imaginative settings create a visually diverse journey that keeps the adventure feeling fresh as players move from one level to the next. Character animations are smooth and expressive, helping bring personality to the fox protagonist as he runs, jumps, and battles through the world. The sound design complements the visual presentation with cheerful background music that reinforces the adventurous atmosphere. Each environment features musical themes that match the tone of the level, whether calm exploration or more intense moments of action. Sound effects associated with jumping, attacking, and interacting with objects provide clear feedback to the player, helping make movement and combat feel responsive. Together, the music and sound effects contribute to the game’s lively and playful mood. Another notable strength of the game is its accessibility. The controls are intuitive, making it easy for players to quickly understand how to navigate the world and interact with its challenges. The learning curve is gradual, allowing players to become comfortable with the mechanics before the game introduces more demanding platforming segments. This design makes the game approachable for players of many skill levels, including those who may not typically play platforming games. However, as with many smaller indie projects, the game’s scope is somewhat limited compared to larger platforming titles. The mechanics remain relatively simple throughout the adventure, and experienced players may find that the gameplay does not evolve dramatically after the initial chapters. While the levels remain enjoyable to explore, players looking for deep combat systems or highly complex puzzles might wish for additional gameplay variety. Despite these limitations, Rise of Fox Hero succeeds in delivering a charming and enjoyable platforming experience that captures the spirit of classic adventure games. Its colorful environments, accessible mechanics, and emphasis on exploration create a relaxing and entertaining journey that does not demand excessive time investment. The combination of platforming challenges, light combat, and hidden collectibles ensures that the gameplay remains engaging from beginning to end. Overall, Rise of Fox Hero stands as a delightful indie platformer that embraces simplicity while offering a polished and visually appealing adventure. It may not attempt to redefine the platforming genre, but it provides a well-crafted experience that celebrates the joy of exploration and discovery. Players who appreciate colorful fantasy worlds and straightforward platforming gameplay will likely find the fox hero’s journey to be a fun and memorable adventure. Rating: 7/10
The game was a lot of fun. Colorful and pretty. Great movement and camera control. As some other reviewer mentioned, it does get a bit repeditive with the same enviroments and enemies, but collecting all the coins and apples and barrels was enjoyable. The level design was great. I've completed the game but not collected everything yet. I don't think there's an achive for it though.
