Not really in my genre but it's free, unique and ticks lots of my fetish boxes so have a recommend.

Not looking much at the store page I was under the impression Ring of Fire was an action brawler. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a turn-based RPG. Well, I think the latter part airs on the weak side because I don't think balancing is established or enforced that well. Story-wise we're working well within wacky territory as two rival wrestlers finally push it too far in the ring, headbutt one another and find themselves in Hell. Not any variety mind you, Wrestling Hell with Wrestling Satan to go along as she challenges the two girls, now transformed into blue and red demon respectively, to see if they can work their way through the wrestling scene and earn their freedom. It's about as comical as you imagine with imps being the local audience and two leads having to put aside their differences to tackle their rivals. Or really, that would be the case if there was more to do the game rather than dealing with one lackey and tons of mooks in samey fights. Still, I rather enjoyed that everyone gives you cheek and you bounce right back with dialog choices in two flavors; sarcastic blue or fiery red. I touched somewhat on the gameplay department in the opening. This is on me, but I took good thirty minutes to realize I can actually choose which four moves my characters can equip and that was only after I started getting my ass kicked towards the end. This isn't on the game, I just wanted to point things aren't clearly conveyed to the player. This carries onto progression where you can grind teeth, serving as Hell currency, to buy some moves and equipment. Your special moves run on HYPE which is in turn generated by your basic attacks or with Megaphone item on ATB basis Final Fantasy fans will find familiar. Except in circles. This becomes a problem as dome moves have higher costs and you assume, due to naming conventions, that they're improvements over those older moves so you find yourself starved for HYPE and relying on meager basic damage. On the flipside, Pin is the great equalizing maneuver lettin you take out enemies after some button mashing based on their remaining health. Upon its discovery it was smooth sailing to the final boss. Taking into account we're talking about a free game here take everything I say with a grain of salt. Solid effort with drawbacks primarily concerning performances, game dipped to low framerate in couple of consistent scenes, and lack of clear power progression. Bite-sized and enjoyable with pleasant visuals. Oddly enough, controls are worth pointing out as for some reason each character has its own controls. One uses WASD while other relies on arrow buttons. Why?

Tag-team partners engage in rivalry match against one another ends in headbutt that leaves them both dead. The only way to return to life is to rebuild their partnership and lay the smackdown on Wrestling Satan. Rings of Hell is basically the Mario & Luigi RPGs on GBA with a wrestling theme. You have two wrestlers each controlled in a JRPG menu format, each with their own control scheme (Red is WASD and Blue is the Arrows), Mastering the game involves learning to manipulate both characters at the same time. The combat is highly simplified with relatively low HP pools, zero randomization and limited stats. The overall feel is ultra-casual. While unneeded to beat the game, there are a few couple moves that help nail the theme. - The "Pin" maneuver allows you to immediately take an opponent out of the fight regardless of remaining health. Weaken them just enough to pin and the enemies will fall fast. - "Tag-Team" moves that require both characters to activate and use a button combination including both heroes. These deal massive damage, but can be tricky to learn. The only real "Problem" I have with the game is that you should be able to rebind the keys. Even travelling the world map requires two hands and it feels uncomfortable. I don't want to have to use the arrow keys, tap E to talk and then move to Enter to advance text boxes. This default scheme just feels bad and unneeded outside combat. Overall, I enjoyed the experience though I never even broke a sweat due to the casual difficulty level. At a price of free, this is an easy recommendation.
