RGBVerse is a constant runner type game, in this case the runner of the game is a ball that goes along a track. At the end of the track is a giant portal like goal. Between you and the goal is quite a few openings in the track you have to jump over, platforms that may or may not be colored, a few projectile like obstacles, spikes, launch pads, and so on. Certain objects will be colored in this game, one or more of 3 distinct colors, Red, Green, and Blue. In order to land on these objects without dying you have to change to the same color of the object. The premise of the game is rather simple to explain. Simple can be good, in this case the game itself is easy to understand, not having any unneeded complications. Generally speaking, the game looks fairly pretty too, it keeps to its created theme and visually there is nothing that breaks the game environment. The game’s art is fairly good, though parts of it can look fairly dull. Unfortunately, there is little praise I can give to the game beyond this. The primary problem with this game is its controls, first in order to change to a specific color you have to hold the specific color that is needed for the platform. There is 3 different colors so something like that can’t be too complicated, yet I can’t help but feel that a toggle option would have improved this aspect of the game. Now you may be thinking that such a small problem could be too bad, and you would be right, if the problem was the lack of a toggle switch than that would be nothing. The problem lies with how the game handles input. To be blunt, there is a delay on ALL inputs. You want to jump? Press the space key and jump… bout a half second later. You want to change color? You better have pushed that button well before you needed to cause that is when I will notice it. The input delay that this game has is game breaking. Any bit of enjoyment one may have gotten out of this game is all but ruined by this delay. There is 9 levels to this game, I have only played 2 of them. The game’s levels themselves are at least decently laid out, perhaps I would even call them well made if it wasn’t for how poorly the game handled. As the game is now it becomes nearly impossible to give the level design a fair critique. To sum this game up, it is an endless runner with a decent (all be it, unoriginal) premise with absolutely terrible controls.
